$50,000,000 in condoms stopped by the Trump administration

I was just reading about US foreign aid and came across this line about my wife's project:

The U.S. PEPFAR program has saved 17 million lives from HIV/AIDS and enabled 2.4 million babies to be born HIV-free.

I can personally think of lots and LOTS of private sector companies that are not only "more equipped" to do that work.... why they are ready and eager to do so!

I'd even link to them ....... if they existed. But maybe you can?

 

then do it professionally and have independent iG's audit it and make recommendations. don't just quit sending food to starving people and say we will get back to you in 90 days with a decision. the fact that anybody gives djt credit for finding a way to efficiently do anything other than line his own pockets is a farce to begin with. he will use the aid as leverage the same way desi used the line item veto and all that covid funding as leverage. no regard to the damage done, provided he gets a deal he wants. its what people with zero empathy and 100% transactional nature do.

Supposedly there are now real concerns with time sensitive supplies going to waste because people may be furloughed with zero plans or considerations in place.
