I certainly agree with username about Ricks but I also agree with you - Walker, Qua, Smith - (and others) we are far from done on DL recruiting.

Also agree we need another LB or 2 but from what I am hearing our best bets are "flips" at the position.

+ We could use at least 1 more O Lineman, the kid out of MA is a prime target / 5 star, , perhaps Cade out of LA (has the staff cooled on him a bit?).

I'm really hoping we could sign 4 - 6 more this cycle.

But I am worried about the week before early signing day. By that I mean a big "auction" going on where kids are flipping and flopping all over the place. It's a new world in recruiting now.

First part of season LSU looked bad and their coach deer in headlights. Since then, they look like they are a top team. Doubt he's interested in us.

Now that would be a nightmare scenario, assuming Cormani sticks to UM.

Or by FSU do you mean Jackson state? :)

Is this recent? I know they gave him a CB but that was back in March.

Here is the problem with these million dollar NIL deals.

kids show up on campus feeling entitled, they perhaps feel like they’ve made it and don’t work as hard, they have more money for drugs, and there is resentment on he team from others. You saw all these things at TAM this year and likely Miami next.

man not every kid who gets a big NIL deal is going to act entitled etc.

And lets be real, would you have been saying this had Cormani committed to UF?

As I recall, we had several discussions about the potential for serious team issues after the flood of instant millionaires in the locker room last year, when the atm class was bought and paid for with a sea of oil money. And as soon as things began to fall apart for the ag college this season, the "I told you so" comments began flying around like Russian tank turrets trying to achieve orbital velocity. FTR, I place the preponderance of the "blame" for the CM NIL shenanigans on the classless, unscrupulous "adults" who are the ultimate source of the okey doke troll idiocy going on in Coral Gables. But the fact remains that "boys will be boys" and the way things went down with the Gator Hater T-shirt, along with the big nasty smirk on CM's face, is enough to really piss a lot of people off. Which, incidentally, is exactly what the nice folks in South Beach were going for. Snatch a prized recruit, sow dissention in Gator Land and sit back and laugh like hell. If that's not the game plan in scUMtown, I'll eat my O&B hat.

I totally and completely agree with Napier's plan to use NIL, etc money the way he is doing so.
"We will not get into a bidding war with other schools."
We all know that when we are throwing excessive sums of money at 17-year-old kids... all kinds of negative things begin to happen.
    Multiple negativities come into play:

Situations in the locker room with the ultra high paid players vs those who are not.

Ratcheted up egos, entitlement and false pride come into play... big time.
We are seeing T&AM players lighting up doobies in the locker room???
Very little sense of respect to coaches, classroom, etc.
Some coach is yelling at a player on game day or in practice... and he just cops an attitude... quits... starts looking at the portal.
Who has the better, fancy car? Who doesn't?
Greedy parents get pulled into all of this as well. How are they paid?
And then, when their season starts to go down, they really don't care.
They care about the $$, cars, etc, etc.
No sense of team unity, etc.
We could go on and on.
Once again, Billy is doing it right.
    The money is important...
But the real value is playing for an University, an organization, a cause, etc that you believe in.

(I'm a professional musician. Even though I can be a, "hired gun"... I only perform with bands that respect my talent.
If I sense a feeling of disrespect in any way or level, I am gone.
It is amazing to see the looks on former band members when they realize I am...
    "Already Gone.")

I can’t stand guys that always want attention. We have a guy that beats his chest when making tackles after 15 yard gains. Cormani seems like another one of those. Maybe even a shoe thrower. He’s talented no doubt but I’d rather have a different talented guy. That poster a couple days ago said something to that affect and kinda got me thinking about it. “Act like you’ve been there before.”

Either start paying for elite recruits or don’t expect to contend for championships anytime soon. End of story.
