What is it that you think the "powers that be" are not doing?? The school has spent millions on facilities, Napier is highly paid and he has scores of minions running around to analyze things. The University is not in charge of NILs, so what more would you like? Just curious.

I don’t know how he meant it for sure, but I would include those handling the nil deals in the “powers that be” category.

Does Napier not have involvement with the Nil process. It seems naive to think otherwise.
Again just trying to figure what the complaint is.

Administration, Boosters. The folks who have the money and power to make our program attractive to recruits. Yes, there has been recent investment in facilities and staff and recruiting budgets. All that's done is bring us back to even.

I know that me and you and everyone in here does not have that kind of power and control over our football program.

We're way behind here, it will take awhile to catch up and stay there.

I'd like to think that he's in the loop. He's not writing and signing the checks. He's also not in Tigert Hall, twisting the arms of UF's admissions either. I don't think any
of our coaches have ever been able to break one of the biggest albatross's our program has had in the countless decades.

I don't see that as a big hindrance to Napier having success. Certainly nothing prior coaches haven't had to deal with.

Off topic a bit, but if I was a coach making $7+ M / year, I'd find a way to kick in a couple of bucks to the NIL program.

A couple bucks isn’t going to help and Napier doesn’t have the cash even close to what’s necessary

But that was before the other teams started to get their NIL programs organized. It's probably a lot worse this year.

I remember a former coach throwing some $$$ to keep his defensive back out of jail for back child support.

    He got fired for that.

Sanctions, but not fired as I recall.

Times have changed tho. It's pretty much the wild west now with no enforcement that I can see.

I’m sure he has some involvement, but he doesn’t cut the checks or have much control over how much money is available.

    Forced to resign...fired....same difference.

Its the wild west, but UF doesn't play that game anymore. We are squeaky clean, while the rest of them cheat.

Unilateral disarmament is what I call it. And until the UAA and the administration decide to go balls to the wall, we will lose to those who do.

I'm sure that he would sign off of any of their decisions to move forward with someone. Certainly, the collective can't force a player on Napier, nor should they.

Not sure what that has to do with my post. I didn’t say anything about anyone forcing anything. It’s fairly obvious who the team is after, but Napier doesn’t control how much money is available, and he doesn’t cut the checks. He’s dependent on people he has no control over to take care of those things for him. He may have some input, but he can’t tell any of us how to spend our money.

The collective doesn’t have the amount of money necessary to sign top classes. They’ve done a decent job taking care of current rosters, but they aren’t landing top dollar recruits. They’re moving pennies, while other teams have billionaires throwing real weight around. Also, from the looks of it, the collective is run by some real clowns, one of the top dogs has already been forced out for being a drunken buffoon.
