5* CB Desmond Ricks down to UF, LSU, and Bama. Commitment date 12/23/22

I’m gonna give the unpopular opinion but I’d like to keep who we have in the DB class as is. That’s assuming McClain picks UF. If they find a way to add Ricks and lose nobody then great.

 

The staff will find a way to fit him in. Other than Mclain who would you rather have than Ricks? He was the #2 ranked player regardless of position in 2024. I do not know how this will shake out if he picks the Gators but the staff will find away to make it work. You HAVE to take this guy if he wants in. Maybe Gates moves to WR ?

 

Think he will follow his brother to Bama.

 

Thats the popular opinion, However with Raymond I think Forida has a great shot to land him and at some point kids must realize Saban is 72 years old. Gonna have to retire someday.

 

That doesn’t matter anymore with the portal the way it is. Kids aren’t locked in for 4 years. They can go be pet of the machine and learn and soak up greatness. And IF he retires they can stay or they can take all of that they learned to a new program that will happily take them

Also, just because this is a surprise to some on this board doesn’t mean it’s a surprise to this staff.

Hard to believe they haven’t prepared for this. They want ricks and Cormani. It’s about damn time we have had a staff that sets that standard and EXPECTS that yearly.

 

People sometimes think Eli Ricks.....but they aren't related to my knowledge. Not to mention Eli is very unhappy at Bama anyway lol

2) ricks doesn’t see the field and is very unhappy there lmao.

3) IF Eli ricks was his brother….Corey Raymond recruited him to LSU, aka our DB coach. Aka, the last time Eli ricks played meaningful minutes his coach was our DB coach.

Speaking of Ricks transfer to Bama, it's crazy how Bama cherry picks the portal. Ricks hasn't worked out but to think they got Ricks, Gibbs amd tootoo from the portal... It's like free agency without a cap. Reminding me of Ricks just made me think about it. Off topic I know
