Will need quite awhile in a good S&C program to play DL in SEC. Benjamin is where the wealthy send their kids. Nicklaus' grandkids went there. Tiger's kids go there. Other pro golfers' kids too.
6'-4" 215? He won't be getting much PT at the edge position in the SEC with those measurables any time soon. Maybe at reciever. 2 years in S&C before he is ready?
I gained 25 lbs. my Freshman year in the weight room...all muscle. It can be done in one year. In the ensuing 44 years, I've gained 35 lbs.....mostly fat

Ga. Southern, isn't that where Erk Russell coached after his stint as UGA defensive coordinator? I always thought he was very good at UGA, I think Southern won a title or two under Russell didn't he? Anyway - Very cool, as someone that does pay attention, IMO, it's no small accomplishment making the team and playin for someone like Ga Southern. I had some buds that tried out for Troy (Alabama) and they were very good players. Only one of them (Kenny Ingrahm) made the cut, he actually worked his way into the starting rotation at running back in the pre-season until he had an epiliptic siezure at practice. Kenny did not want to divulge his medical condition. He was of course dismissed from the team for medical reasons immediately after the incident, never having got to dress or play in a game. Shame too, he was slated as being a potential starter.
He was an outstanding person. The players loved him. It think he could have suited up back then and still dominated on the DL against some of our Olinemen. He was built like a 55 Gal drum with a couple of stilts for legs . It wasn't that impressive before they started giving scholly's, though. We were a glorified HS team, and I was a scrub on that team! By the time that Southern was winning FCS titles, I was long gone and in graduate school at UF.
This. No matter how hard I tried I could not gain weight in HS. Graduated at 6'5", 205lbs. A year and a half later I weighed 235lbs. mostly muscle gain using no supplements. There's no telling what kind of gains I would have made in a D1 S&C program.
Definitely would like to have this kid as he can play several positions. Would be a very, very big recruiting win at this point of the year

I attended the game. It was definitely a weird experience, but to tell the truth I was more mortified as a Gator than happy for my former school.
