in games decided by 1 run or games decided in extras. 1/2 of those wins were during the Miss St series too. Not very good when it matters.
I think it's actually 3-8 ("in the SEC"), St. Mary's was their only other 1-run win (along with the 2 against State and 1 against Tennessee). I've always liked this stat as a basic measure of mental toughness. Consider some of our furthest advancing teams in the postseason: 2005: 13-5 2011: 10-6 (2 of those losses were to Carolina, they were also very good in 1-run games that year) 2017: 18-7 2023: 10-4 Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS

— I was going with one run wins, or wins in extra innings. Looks like we won in extras against LSU, two 1 run wins against Mississippi State, and one 1 run win against Tennessee. That’s how I came up with the 4, to make us 4-8. But you’re exactly right, we don’t seem mentally tough, like many Gator teams of the past. Thanks for the stats too. Good stuff!
