At 18 years of age, I naively didn’t realize that the group of buddies I made during my time would be the funniest, most loyal and resilient friends I would ever have. I just assumed I would continue to be surrounded by people that could find humor in the sh!tiest moments. My greatest regret… not taking more pictures to savor the memories. I definitely keep in touch with them, and never feel better than when I get a chance catch up with them. I joined a peacetime Army, my hats off to you for stepping up when called. I can’t imagine how you felt the day you got your notice. You’re a good man. My son joined a few years ago. He got deployed to the Afghan withdrawal and later to Eastern Europe, and is now safely stateside. We are obviously very proud of him.
Glad your son is safe. Our youngest son joined the Army in 1997 and went Airborne. He is now teaching high school in Marion County. Sounds like we have some experiences in common other than our love for UF.
