28 years ago tonight....

I loved seeing Danny scramble for the TD but my favorite part of the entire game was when Terry Jackson scored the final TD and SOS was on the sideline giving the clock running (RUTS) signal

 

Same here. We were about 20 rows up on the 5 yard line. He scored it right in front of us. Probably the most fun I've ever had....EVER

 

Most hated rival who tried to injure your quarterback. Took an unbelievable string of lucky wins to even get in the game. The HBC/alumnus/heisman winner installs a whole new system (shotgun). All the marbles are put on the table and the game opens close. Ike's ridiculous catch/score and Danny literally trudging for a score and then jumping (as high as Danny could!). Second half is a party as you blow the Noles out of the building! lucked into great seats for that game and don't know if I'll ever experience another like it (and I was at both Tempe and Miami for the other titles).

 

That and Donnie Young stiff arming that Hole lineman all the way to the end zone on that play. Little shove at the end but no biggie.

 

It was one of the best nights of my life- so many sweet memories after the devastation in Tally just 4 weeks prior.

Personal story- watching at home in SC with my 2 girls- ages 10 and 5. Very late night but it was a special occasion so...
The 5 year old was diminutive with a firecracker personality...
She got an old fashioned blackboard for Christmas and she kept score on it as the game went along.

Every time we would score the girls and I would celebrate and then the 5 year old would grab the eraser, update the score and exclaim "Take THAT you Seminoles!'

 

I was a student at UF. Gainesville was crazy that week!

 

Nokia was a client and we were invited to their suite. I had to pass because of business. Got the wife in the car late in the day and drove to Gainesville just in case. WE WIN!!! Go to the Porpoise for the celebration. We need beer so I volunteer and go inside. The next day my wife and my friends are on the cover of the Alligator and I'm inside buying beer.

 

We were on a plane coming back from Colorado and asked the steward to ask the pilot for an update on the game. He kept us informed all the way to Tampa. We got home in time to see the 4th quarter.

 

We were there. Skybox near end zone. we were there so early that the door was locked.

The game is over. We stay drinking and carousing. Got a knock on the door that we were the last people in the stadium.

on the way out, we mocked the poodles with a rendition of “Georgia, Georgia, how’d you like the bite my a**”
