Most consider Clemson last in at this point and their NET isn't good (68), but they have three Q1 wins, four Q2 wins, and a great record (18-6). What perplexes me is that their record is 18-6 thanks in large part to the #319 ranked OOC schedule in the country. But I will say, the committee absolutely dings you for a bad OOC schedule and that is why I think we have a little wiggle room (with #39 overall OOC schedule) if we can just stack some wins together. For the record, I don't think Clemson gets in as of now. They also have 3 really bad losses. Next in is UNC and they are in thanks to five Q2 wins (one Q1) and also a great OOC schedule IMO. They're far from solidly in though.
Wednesday, February 8, 2023 7:00---#42 Florida @ #3 Alabama: UF doesn't have to have this, but it'd be season changing. Bubble teams had a great week last week, we need to burst through sooner rather than later. Go Gators. Result: UA won 6:30---#95 Nebraska @ #70 Michigan: We really should be more concerned with passing teams than being caught, but go ahead and root against UM anyways. Go Cornhuskers. Result: UM won 6:30---#17 Creighton @ #54 Seton Hall: SHU moves to solidly ahead of us with a win here. Go Blue Jays. Result: Creighton won 7:00---#129 UNC Wilmington @ #63 Coll of Charleston: Little room for error for CoC with 0 Q1 wins. Go Seahawks. Result: CoC won 7:00---#188 Boston College @ #50 Virginia Tech: How do you fall off the bubble with little chance of return? Lose at home to BC. Go Eagles. Result: BC won 7:00---#46 Memphis @ #149 South Florida: Memphis essentially has our resume, but four more Q2 wins. We need a bad loss soon. Go Bulls. Result: Memphis won 7:00---#12 Iowa State @ #21 West Virginia: A win tonight likely puts WVU into "solidly in" barring a bad end to the season. Go Cyclones. Result: WVU won 8:30---#77 Wisconsin @ #58 Penn State: Such similar resumes with horrible OOC schedules. I just don't see committee forgiving letting in UW over us without more big wins. Go Nittany Lions. Result: UW won 8:00---#71 Texas Tech @ #35 Oklahoma State: OSU is a little ahead, but certainly catchable. Go Red Raiders. Result: OSU won 9:00---#139 LSU @ #47 Mississippi State: MSU is still safely a Q1 win so we can certainly cheer against them so they don't catch us. Go Tigers. Result: MSU won 9:00---#60 Oklahoma @ #11 Baylor: This is one of the bigger games we need to keep an eye on. Cannot have OU winning this. Go Bears. Result: Baylor won 10:00---#22 San Diego State @ #33 Utah State: Another huge game for bubble implications. USU cannot win this game. Go Aztecs. Result: SDSU won
Thursday, February 9, 2023 11:00---#50 Southern Cal @ #53 Oregon: We aren't catching USC anymore, but could stave off Oregon. Go Trojans. Result: Oregon won
Friday, February 10, 2023 9:00---#38 New Mexico @ #170 Air Force: If we can catch UNM in Q1/Q2 wins (they have 5), our resume is better in every way besides record. Go Falcons. Result: AFA won 11:00---#169 Fresno State @ #31 Nevada: Nevada's resume is better for sure, but bad losses let you catch teams. Go Bulldogs. Result: Nevada won
UPDATE: I won’t be updating this anymore as the odds of a bid are now unrealistic. If we go on a winning streak to end the year I’ll revive it. Hope it entertained some!
A little late gogators73 - Thank you for your efforts on this. lets hope the Gators make a late run here and you can pick it back up!
