Hi Cap, Off subject but I think it's time to tip the cap to Norvell and the program. You guys went through hell prior to last year and it looks like sticking with Norvell is paying big dividends. Regrettably for UF ya'll did not fire him year 2. (lol) Personally I hope you beat down Miami Saturday ala last year. IMO Travis is one hell of a QB, I think the pundits undervalue him. While I hope we put another 97 type whippin on ya around turkey day and rip off the Cinderella slipper, should you survive us, I will be pulling for you should you play UGA in the playoffs. Be well
Appreciate it. Should FSU have to play UGA, I do not have high hopes. I think a lot of potential playoff teams are hoping Bama knocks UGA off in the SEC CG, since they are a very difficult match up for almost anyone not named Bama.
Knocking Georgia out in SEC championship just brings Alabama and Georgia into the final 4...no way Georgia drops out even if they lose by 20.
Yeah I'll concede that Norvell has taken yall up a notch this year. He's improved his roster through the portal very well. Looks to be picking up on th HS recruiting too. One serious question for you, and don't take this as a knock on fsu, just an observation, but how do you ( your fan base ) feel about your QB recruiting? This is Travis' 6th And I can't really say I'm familiar with any of your back ups. (UF similar situation)but we have our heir committed and he's proving to be better then expected so far this senior season. What are your thoughts on the QB room and recruiting.
Depends on what Texas does and what happens in the PAC12. If Washington goes undefeated, they are in. Assume one of OSU or Michigan is in. If FSU goes undefeated and wins the ACC, they are in. So if Texas has one loss, UGA has one loss, and Bama has two losses, which of those three get the last spot?
I think the QB room is always a roulette wheel when it comes to individual QBs. You never know which ones are going to hit. FSU currently has a career system back up in Rodemaker. A 4* IMG QB in Duffy from '22 and a 4* from '23 in Glenn. From what I have heard, one of those three are likely to work out. We'll see but I think the more options you have, the better.
That Oklahoma loss is looking worse each week Texas. Who is Bamas 2 losses in this scenario? I would imagine if Bama hands UGA their 1st defeat of the season in the SECCG they would all be a 1 loss team. The worse loss between them would be Texas' loss to Oklahoma, that looks worse each week. Meanwhile you'd like to think bama who had the tougher schedule between them and uga would go to the cfp as the SEC champ with a win over the 2 time defending champ. But at that point does the committee choose between a 1 loss Texas and 1 loss 2 x defending champion? Could get Interesting.
You are right on Bama only having one loss. Thanks for the correction. For some strange reason, I keep thinking they have two loses this. I have no idea why. Bottom line is that Bama is not getting into the CFP over Texas if Texas only has one loss. Texas beat Bama at Bama. So the committee has to choose between UGA and Texas. That is why I think a lot rest with how Texas finishes out the season. Imagine if Kirby announced he was resting his starters for the CFP ahead of the SEC CG! That would be cause some heads to explode.
Undefeated teams definitely get a free ticket. Texas isn’t one of those . Their chances are very slim.
If Bama beats Georgia, they are in. The sec champs very rarely lose and everyone knows who the best conference is and there’s no debate. I know many look for a reason to leave them out but they would be 10 point favorites over Texas if they beat Georgia. However, the puppies will win.
I think Alabama beating Georgia should knock Georgia out if the losses stay the same. Georgia's strength of schedule is aweful and Texas beat Alabama. Probably wouldn't happen though.
Georgia would be left out more than likely because fsu, big 10, and Washington will all likely be undefeated. If one of them lose though, it changes everything
If Texas wins the Big 12 and has beaten Bama, the SEC Champion at Bama, you think the playoff committee is going to put Bama in over them?I'm not sure that happens even if Saban asks nicely. SEC Roll Call talked about this possibility last week.
My thought is Alabama would get in and TX should go in over GA because of GAs crap schedule. That is if the committe is truely looking at schedule as they claim is the justification for OSU being #1.
