Now compare UGA TE recruiting to UF TE recruiting post Kyle Pitts. Illogical when Pitts was highest rated/drafted TE coming out of college in years and had record level first year NFL production.
Yea this has to change. Not only to take from Georgia but also because historically….Napiers offenses like their TEs. But we do have to keep in mind that Pitts season isn’t going to be replicated any time soon. That was such a special season for Trask/Pitts/Toney.
Boardingham is going to be really really good, and Livingston surprised me last night by how quickly he has progressed. Hansen certainly can block, no idea if he can run a pattern or coatch a ball
But would he have taken it? That’s a big challenge trying to follow up what his father did. If he does succeed it would be hard to outdo his father. If he fails then it wouldn’t be embarrassing. I know that if I was a son of a famous and successful college football coach, I’d want to do my own thing and create my own legacy, instead of going to a place where my father will always be the greatest coach there and I have to live up to his standards. I think that is why Shane likes being at SC, because he can try and recreate what his dad did at VTech. VT never had the storied success like many programs, but Frank did it his way by finding a way to be successful ( great special teams and good defenses) Torrian Gray who I believe is a great recruiter and very good coach here at South Carolina would be a great fit at VT. This Brent Pry guy they have now is not going to get it done. TG would bring excitement to the program since he played there and is such a great personality. I’d hate to lose him, but if VT has another opening, then TG is who I’m reaching out to.
Wow. Damn. After the 2021 season I kinda thought they were going to be down for a long time. I hate to admit it but Norvell has done a good job rebuilding that mess that Jimbo left behind.
