I wonder what times on Sunday. I bought tickets for Sunday already. Looking at tickets for Friday now.
NCAA Tournament: Duke, Florida and UConn to play in Raleigh at the Lenovo Center :: WRALSportsFan.com
we get Bill Rafterly? “Send it in, big fella!” I think this is his last tourney (retiring). I could be wrong on that, but his voice has been doing games for decades so I like him doing our game.
While I feel that UF should have been a higher #1 seed, while there are no guarantees or easy match-ups, I think they got more favorable match-ups then other #1 seeds. - Houston has Gonzaga as an 8 seed, which imo, they should have been seeded higher (just beat St. Mary's & are 8 in NET) & Auburn plays the winner of Louisville (just beat Clemson) & Creighton (beat UCONN in Big East semifinals). - Should the Gators make it to the Sweet 16, they avoid some tough 4 & 5 seeds in Arizona, Michigan, Clemson & Oregon. Maryland & Memphis are tough also but glad to avoid those other teams). - Should the Gators get to the elite 8, I'd rather have Mich St. then St. Johns as the 2 seed. - Should the Gators get to the Final Four, they avoid Duke and Houston.
Looking back over the whole bracket, I realized Florida is the only team in from the state of Florida. Does that surprise anyone else based on the past or am I missing something? I get the other teams in the state had down years but we usually get some other surprises in. I think of past schools like FAU, FGCU, UCF, Stetson, etc. This is not some ding at FSU or Miami for not making it in but think of the attention we could get this year across the state if we go far. It surprised me and makes me wonder if we can keep drawing in the talent from across the state next year.
Well, they were an impressive 1 - 12 on quad one games. Because spring break in Lexington & Wichita is like . . . such a rush.
What I fear about our bracket: - UConn curse - Or freshman phenom Fears going off - Mizzou shooting lights out again - Pitino knowing how to guard Clayton What I like: - We are better than every team in our bracket by a decent margin if we play our A game IMO
Thanks for letting me know how good they are. I haven't seen them play but I saw that Oregon beat Maryland at home and has wins vs Alabama, Texas A&M & at Wisconsin. Maryland's best wins are 2 wins vs Illinois, Wisconsin & they split 2 games vs Michigan. However, they do appear to have very good metrics. I guess regardless, should the Gators make it to the sweet 16, its going to be a really tough game.
Maryland has a solid starting 5, but they have no depth beyond that. If we matched up with them at some point, I think our depth would grind them down pretty quick.
