Let's just say I'm prepared for the worst. I would care less about the Duke or UH coaches, but I guess Todd will be squaring off against them on the trail/portal I would hope. But they aren't in the SEC.
Google machine says it means something along the lines of picking the favored teams or the favored teams are winning.
I felt like the travel finally got to us in the Texas tech game. We really didn’t play like our normal energetic selves for most of the game. It seemed like they were coming up with all the loose balls.
They did the same against Arkansas. And rebounded well. Anyone who watched that game knew ours wouldn't be easy.
My Big-Time Vol boss here at work today said the TN-UH game reminded him of watching the TN-UF game in Gainesville. He said it looked like UH had studied that as the way to play Tennessee. I am not enough of a basketball x/o type to be able to see the pattern. Thought I'd share the comment.
The term "chalk" for the favorite in a sporting event comes from the world of horse racing. Back in the day, tracks would put betting odds on chalk boards. The more money the people put on a horse, the more the odds are lowered, and the more the track would erase the odds on the board. Eventually, the favorite's odds would be impossible to read, and all anyone could read was "chalk" markings. As for the Final Four, Duke is beatable. If Arizona could have strung a few stops, we could've beaten them. We scored 93 on them. And if any team can put stops together, it's Houston. On the other side, Florida is the most complete team. But Broome is the best player. Clayton is amazing, but relying on him again for late game heroics isn't a great plan. Hopefully Florida can contain Broome and play a complete game.
Yeah, not taking anything away from TT. They’re very good. I just noticed more standing around than usual (until the end).
I will say it before the Final 4. There is no biased officiating against the Florida Gators in the NCAA tournament, especially the Final 4. If we win it will be because we played the better game. If we lose it will be because the other team played the better game. Blaming the officials for a Gator loss is a loser's mentality and to think there is bias against Florida at this level is, to me, crazy. Refs make mistakes, players make mistakes, but none of it is intentional. It's part of the game, especially with all the physicality that is allowed in college basketball today. There is literally a foul on every possession and the refs do their best to call the ones that affect the play or are so obvious they can't be ignored, without the intent to help or harm either team. I believe that with all my heart and if some disagree with me, that's fine. Now, may the Gators be the best team on Saturday and Monday and take home the title!! Go Gators!
i think your boss was thinking how bad Tennessee shot, controlled their pg and couldn’t ever get going against a tough defense. Completely took them apart. I am sure glad it happened……
Hard to believe neither of our title teams are on this list. I guess those late season losses in SEC play hurt their numbers.
