Gonna be another battle. Maryland has some dudes and most their losses are very close games.

I can’t believe they didn’t call that, so blatant. Then again, I’m not surprised at all, rules don’t count at the end of a game

All four replays showed him pick up the ball (not on one of the steps but before he took a step), then took three full steps to go from the foul line all the way to the base line without having to put the ball on the floor. This is why you can't compare eras. The things players get away with now would never have been allowed back in the day. Don't even get me started on the carrying they allow on every dribble.

Man, you’re not going to let me live this down Davis! :emoji_joy:

Ok, I think all wins and losses should be a part of the equation, including conference tournaments, and if so, I think Auburn is the only team to have a clear case for overall #1 over Florida. Duke is a mixed bag (better metrics but worse resume), and Houston doesn’t have much on Florida (similar metrics and worse resume).

But we can’t give special preference to head to head in tournament seeding, as all games are head to head. Even if Florida beat Auburn, so did Duke. And Kentucky beat Florida and Duke. Therefore, we just have to count all the games.

PS How is the baby? New kids can be tough, but I bet you guys are doing a great job.

We will need to guard the 3 line against Maryland...that's their only chance to beat us. They were 10 of 24 from 3 = 41.7%.

They are not beating us down low.

Refs NEVER call 3 seconds in the paint anymore. There were several times during this game where Maryland had 1, sometimes 2 guys just standing in the paint almost the whole possession and they never called it once.
That was a GREAT game to watch. Maryland has no depth and I think the Gators will wear them down - if we come out focused and intense for 40 minutes, unlike today.

I think an up and down transition game will wear down Queen...they have little depth. Got to run them into the ground.

No, I'm not going to let you live it down. :D I really think that FL was deserving of being seeded above Auburn for a variety of reasons. Winning the SEC tournament should have elevated the Gators, along with winning games on the road against Auburn/Bama, etc. Counting all the games, I truly believe the Gators were more deserving, but now I will try to put that debate to rest . . . until the Gators win the championship, at which point I will shame you endlessly.
Thanks for asking about the baby - she's great. Super cutie and getting all the love/attention we can give. It's one heck of a ride raising a newborn. So much perspective - can't believe what folks go through with all these humans walking the Earth!

Yeah looks like three steps to me too. What is a carry is at least subjective. Steps are steps. Either way, Maryland v Florida. Let’s do it.

Not going to lie, watching that Maryland buzzer beater hurt a little bit. No offense to CSU but that would have basically been a free pass to the Elite 8, lol. We would have crushed them.

Ole Miss up 25 with just under 7 minutes to go. Barring an epic collapse, that'll put another SEC team in the Sweet Sixteen. 7 SEC teams I believe?

I think deserve is the key word. Is Florida better than Auburn? I think so, and Florida would likely be slightly favored over Auburn on a neutral court, which is about the best answer we can get. But the question isn’t who is the best hunter. It’s who caught the most game. Auburn’s resume was just incredible, and I think it’s right to acknowledge that. The good news is that from here on out, it’s all head to head. Florida and Auburn will either win or go home, and none of our analysis will matter.

Meanwhile, that’s so great to hear about your little one. I’d love to see a picture. There are so many reasons not to want to go back to when your kid was an infant, but seriously the experience of a baby is something you can never get back. I was so nervous with our first and preoccupied with our second that I would love to have another chance to slow down and just appreciate the baby phase. It sounds like you guys are doing just that.

I found myself pulling hard for CSU. It's a weird game. My friend & BB nemesis that I work with is a HUGE terps fan & my neighbors (team chaplin lives 2 houses away)are huge CSU fans. Losing to either would be horrible. I would not have shit talked my Terp's friend so hard all season if I'd know this matchup was going to go down.

Ole Miss in the sweet sixteen, beating overrated ISU, would not have guessed that. 7 SEC teams left.
