I think the refs wait to see if the ball goes through the net and if it doesn't, then they blow the late whistle. It's awful.
I kind of suspect St. John’s was a fraud. 0-2 against Georgia and Arkansas this year. Lol. That opens up things a lot for us if we can win tomorrow.
So #2 in the West goes down, but Arkansas is a dangerous team right now and I thought they were the more complete team today. And the did it with their leading scorer out. Arky has been a banged up team this year, but will be at full strength for next weekend. Plus the guys that replaced the 3 starters who were injured at times during the season now have confidence and experience. They will be a handful in San Francisco. I just hope we are there with them.
St Johns never really felt like a threat to me. A hot shooting Maryland or Texas Tech is who could prevent us from winning our side of the bracket.
Yesterday St. John’s was a big threat due to the coach. Today, the first big tournament upset. Don’t overworry about UConn because of Hurley.
St Johns kind of shocked me considering all of their 4 losses were one possession. Maybe the SEC wasn't so overrated after all.
That’s the kind of game that worries me, where the refs completely try to insert themselves into the outcome, and are completely saving the non SEC Team because they spent the entire season reffing soft ass WCC or some other weak conference that isn’t used to the physical style. Fortunately for Arkansas, they are just the better team and overcame it.
St. Johns SOS was #51, RPI ranking #10, 7-3 in Quad 1 games, 3-2 in Quad 2 games, undefeated against everybody else. Arkansas SOS was #37, RPI ranking #55, 5-10 in Quad 1 games, 4-1 in Quad 2 games, 5-2 in Quad 3 games, 8-0 in Quad 4 games. But they weren't at full strength most of the season and had as many as 3 of their best plauers out for a good portion of the season. All will be back for San Francisco. For persepctive, our opponent Sunday, UCONN, has an SOS of #80, RPI ranking #53, 3-6 in Quad 1 games, 5-2 in Quad 2 games, 7-1 in Quad 3 games and 9-1 in Quad 4 games. Florida's SOS is #19, RPI ranking #3, 11-3 in Quad 1 games, 5-1 in Quad 2 games, 15- agains the rest. But in the post season, all these rankings and stats mean absolutely nothing because it's 1 game at a time and anything can happen. A team can get hot, go on a roll and knock off better teams. That's what makes March Madness my facorite sporting event every year.
Does anyone know the rhyme or reason on how times are selected for NCAA tourney games? Kinda sucks we played a deep night game, to get a 12PM game for Sunday.
Deep night? It was a 6:50 start, the earliest of all the nights games last night so we should be fine
