I think you’re spot on here. Thomas wants the Holes to make a good hire and justify what he already has in place with them, because the production on the field this season certainly doesn’t back up his decision.
It looks like Connor Mcquiston was the one that created this graph from data that he got from On3. I just downloaded the image from one of his tweets. @ConorMc5 is his X handle if you want to check him out.
I’m a bit more optimistic regarding Thomas but it might be in the coach’s’ hands. Is the money he wants worth it or do we save it for a portal OT. IMO, Thomas is an OG and OT is the greater need.
I think both portal and high school receivers are both needed. Look at Jeremiah Smith and what he did for OSU and how well he would have fit into our offense as a rookie/freshman. And Bama's Ryan Williams... a 17 year old? Some freshman receivers are college ready.
If we beat lsu's offer and he is still playing his hand, rescind the offer and move on which may have already happened.
Rivals' Spiegelman: Florida has a compelling case as the hottest team on the recruiting trail in the country. Billy Napier and the Gators have turned things around and into a different gear during the final nine of this 2025 cycle and have already logged huge late flips of several elite recruits. Our Rivals intel points to Florida being far from finished. We are projecting a five-star flip of offensive lineman Solomon Thomas to the Gators. Thomas has been committed to in-state to Florida State for months, but the arrow is pointing toward the blue-chipper signing elsewhere on Wednesday. Out of LSU and Florida, we expect Thomas to remain in the Sunshine State. We also predict four-star cornerback Onis Konanbanny and four-star safety Lagonza Hayward will wind up playing in the Swamp. Konanbanny has been committed to Tennessee since August. Hayward decommitted from the Vols a few days ago. With so much ammunition in their corner, don't sleep on the Gators also adding five-star receiver Jaime Ffrench late.
I’m looking forward to celebrating those who want to be Gators tomorrow! The rest are Gator bait! Should be a fun day with us finishing near or at top 5 in the nation! Go Gators!!
Just something that makes me think hhhmmmm.... Wouldn't be interesting if the Gators were selected to play in the Gator Bowl, that when they were in town after Christmas, they could set up a lite practice/walk around at Mandarin High School. Hhhhmmmm.... I've seen other college teams including the Gators practice on high school fields when available. It would make for a pleasant and timely field trip.
Much as I’d love to see us play in Jacksonville, that field has already cost us players and I’m afraid more will go down on that shitty turf. There’s no damn excuse for not being able to grow a decent field in Florida
