No "we" don't. He was a Utoothless commit and is now waffling. We may not flip him, but he is clearly thinking.
You received an off topic but for me you are on target. Win the game, show our players and signees we play to win, and our future portal transfers-in that we are on the up.
Overall I am pretty happy with the class. There are areas that could potentially be a little better but overall I think this is a solid group kids. If I am honest I am over the “insiders” covering our program. This has been the 3rd year in a row they hype up NSD the night before acting like we are going to be dropping all these bags and shocking people and nothing materializes in the way they say it will. I think the Haywood pick up is awesome and if we land the CB it’s nice to. We have to stop falling for bait being set by other programs for drama though. All the Dallas Wilson hype completely sucked the oxygen out of this morning when he stuck with Oregon.
I just assume no one posting on the boards has insider information until they prove they do. I was thrilled with what was signed today and surprised at our flip. I never expected Ffrench, Wilson, or Solomon to sign.
The guys paid to be insiders don’t even really have that much inside info, and it can be wrong ten minutes after they get it even if it was true ten minutes ago. Anything actually worth knowing will spread like wildfire even if the info was behind a paywall. Just wait for whatever is going to happen to actually happen. Trying to guess all this shit is a waste of time.
An amazing finish. It's like we were down 28 at the half and came back and won it on the final play in overtime . We won! What a whirlwind. A unique season. We'll likely pick up another high schooler or 2 and some good portal ins. Keep working Napier army. Hope we retain a few difference makers like Banks and return a few off injury to have big years.
If I am being honest, I find it hard to care all that much on missing out any one particular player. As long as we are in the top 20ish, then the portal offers a potential fix. It feels like even odds on whether a player who signed out HS becomes a significant contributor for initial school or ends up producing at another school a couple years later via portal. I know that's probably just my skewed perception and the initial school probably has way better odds, but it sure feels that way sometimes.
Ah, no doubt. The problem isn’t whether the insiders can get the information, it’s what the kid does an hour later after he speaks with an uncle, mom, agent, etc. I don’t get all wrapped up in the rankings anyway. The truth is that these coaches recruits have shown to be more talented than their predecessors. This staff has an eye for talent, so I just mainly focus on roster balance. The main recruiting problem we’ve had since Meyer is that we didn’t have a staff that could recruit talent on both sides of the ball AND balance a roster. Napier and company have shown they can check the recruiting box, they’ve shown they can beat good teams and be competitive with top 5, I only need to see consistency moving forward. If we get that, we’re in good shape.
It’s true that one player usually won’t make or break the class. CBN has been very close the last 3 years to breaking into the next tier of recruiting. I think his staffs have had a knack for identifying and evaluating talent but it doesn’t seem likely that Sale or Gonzalez is going to land 5* talent at any point though. Defensive recruiting has been pretty solid and we have finally moved away from all the previous staff’s tweeners.
Just came to say we flipped players from: FSU Miami Georgia Auburn Pedo St. UTk USCw UTa Bama UAz Arky UCinn That is all.
Maybe but Billy G wasn’t pulling those kids when he was with Mullen with and we were winning 10-11 games and playing for the SEC championship. Winning would certainly help but at the end of the day recruiters recruit. Billy G is a really solid WR coach as far as being a teacher.
It could be worse, we could have F$U’s class. A whopping 38.89% blue chippers. They don’t deserve to be rounded to 39%.
Or paid Soloman and Wilson more than lsu and Oregon. Im good with no bidding wars but that may be closer to the truth as to why Sale and Billy G didnt sign a 5*. Maybe we get a discount if we start beating Bama, Georgia, and Texas routinely but until then, we will have to do so with slightly less talent. Qb is the one position that can help overcome and we have a good one for two more years.
