I like where we are at with him. The emergence of how CBN wants to use the TEs should be soothing on his thought process. Someone noted the other day that Boardingham now has the most TD receptions on the team.
I think this young man is one of UFs more impressive recruits in an impressive class. Really hope he is solid on signing day.
If the teams they list, Florida has the best scenario for an offensive player coming in. Mertz will come back and train Lagway and the offense will roll on. Auburn is years away without a QB.
It seems like that matters very little these days. Kids aren't thinking mostly about winning. I think the relationships with coaches matter alot, but what matters most is the $$$. Not every kid, but most of the top ones.
Mertz coming back would be massive for UF imho. Give DJ a year to learn the system while using him in 4 blowouts to not burn a RS would set CBN up for a long time!
With all of the difficult games we have next year we may find it difficult to have blow out games to insert him into. I am surprised though that we have as many blowout wins in the SEC so far as Georgia and LSU do.
Depending on who comes back next year, we are going to be fine. Rickey is gone Mazzccua - almost left this year Johnson - won't matter, still got ETN & Webb Umanmielen - Boone is coming back and Princely hasn't been the pass rusher we hoped for Cam Jackson - would be huge loss Jason Marshall - he's already left, just forgot to tell everyone (he's the 3rd best CB on team)
I think our DL has been impressive considering the loss of Boone. I dont really take much from the quality of pass rushers based on sacks, as qb are releasing the ball quickly, and most qb in the SEC are so mobile. I don't think Jackson is appreciated enough. Our cb have been very disappointing. i dont see Marshall as a CBN guy. We need Ja to get up to speed, though he has flashed at times.
DJ will definitely burn his RS I’m thinking. Not a bad thing as we should be getting an elite QB every year.
Next year's schedule has to be the most brutal schedule I've ever seen, but every team will have their attrition & new stars. With the amount of youth and the amazing talent CBN has committed atm I'm very optimistic about next year. Miami being game #1 with a returning Mertz and CRUSHING them would set the tone for a phenomenal season imho.
I think it will be more of a Leak/Tebow thing to get him more involved in the playbook and the games.
I feel like Jason Marshall is playing like he's injured, or like he has a mild concussion that he has not fully healed from. He's not playing up to his potential.
Yeah that rotating QBs thing has to be done right. SOS used to say if you’re rotating QBs it’s because neither of them is good enough to keep the job (or something to that effect). Anybody remember “Woodstrock”?
