If you guys want to see how we can be a top 4 seed, this site can figure it out for you. We need Kentucky to lose to Vandy tonight among other things. mred's SEC MBB Tournament Seeding Tiebreaker
I went ahead and pinned this thread for now. Per @gatormonk - SEC seedings as of today... More info here: Sec Sports
I'd take that as is! For last games: Kentucky has UT, so they may lose. Auburn has Georgia, so they likely win USCe has MSU, so they'll likely win. Alabama has Arky, so they'll likely win I think that moves UK to the 5 and the other three up a spot? So if that happenes, we'd get Auburn if we win the 11/14 game. Then the winner of Alabama v 10/7 if we beat Auburn. Either way - it seems we have the 6 locked and UT has the 1 locked, so we won't see them unless we make the finals.
so if all four 12-5 schools lose Saturday (Arky at Bama and UGly at Auburn seem the most unlikely) USCe at Moo You (desperate for a win) and Kentucky at Tennessee, do we still finish 6th if we win at Vandy?
Yup. Honestly sets up better than the 5 seed. If you want the gators to win the whole thing, you want TN to have as many chances to lose before facing Florida as possible. I think UF can beat UT, but I also think UT is in a slight class above the rest of the field this year.
Current 1. Tennessee: 14-3 2t. Alabama: 12-5 2t. South Carolina 12-5 2t. Auburn: 12-5 2t. Kentucky 12-5 6. Florida: 11-6 Projected 1. Tennessee 15-3 2. Alabama 13-5 3. Auburn 13-5 4. Is the tournament played at Vandy? If so, it's kind of nice to play there today and get used to that arena, with the setup and all.
Sorry I thought those games didn't matter, but we need SC to win as well, UK doesn't matter. No this is not my site.
If Florida wins and Alabama, UK and Auburn lose along with a SC win than Florida gets the 4 seed. If Florida wins, Alabama and UK both lose, along with SC and Auburn wins, then Florida gets the 5 seed.
Crazy, when you consider that this season UF outplayed all the top 4 seeds except Tennessee. Those close losses to Bama and UK could have made us a top 10 team.
Check out bigDGator's link above where you can predict the games and see the result. That's where I determined this.
