    The Vols have always been good in basketball during the regular season, sometimes very good, but as you say never great. No NCs, not even a final 4. Maybe this will be the year Barnes and the Vols get over the hump but hope not. Barnes does have a final 4 from his Texas days.

    Of course no final 4s for bama.

    Crap, USC got one over us.

    Also forgot the Mississippi State run.

    Tee Martin year after Peyton left town is the one I recall. They have a few others back before the tv was invented.:cool:

    All I remember was UT fans saying they were better than UF late in the season after losing to the Gators early.

    Like I said I don't follow football.

    But UT once had the Ernie and Bernie show.

    That was awesome and ...

    Looking like the Gators are pretty much locked into the 6th seed unless Kentucky drops the Vandy game and Auburn loses a stunner @ Mizzou or home against Georgia.

    6th isn't the worst spot to be in IMO and is much better than 5th because Tennessee is rolling so seeing them Sunday at worst would be a good thing.

    My guess right now is this for for a potential championship run:

    Thursday 10pm: #6 Gators vs. #11 UGA or Arkansas
    Friday 10pm: #6 Gators vs. #3 Auburn
    Saturday 10pm: #6 Gators vs. #2 Bama (unless upset by #7 MSU or LSU)
    Sunday 1pm: #6 Gators vs. #1 Tennessee (unless upset by #4 South Carolina or #5 Kentucky)

    Agreed, 6th is the more favorable side of the bracket. Don't have to worry about a UT/UK crowd until possibly the championship game.

    Yes I’d be surprised if we lost that game. Not saying it’s easy or we can’t lose, but I’d be surprised if we lost.

    I HOPE our team will respect how good Bama is and be prepared for an onslaught.

    Just because the game is at home and we played so well against them on the road, doesn't mean we have an advantage in this game.

    They'll likely have their ace gunner, Wrightsell, back for tomorrow. He's been out these past four games.

    Per their 247 site he needs suffered a setback in his recovery from a concussion and remains in concussion protocol.

    Yes. If the bracket was set before the Alabama game, we'd be sixth playing night games. With another shot at USC. I wouldn't mind playing them again.

    It looks like the Gators can not be any lower than the 6th seed in the SECt. Could end up tied with any combo of UK, AL (doubtful), Aub (super doubtful), & SC.
