Jake is not quite as physically imposing as DJ, but he is really sharp with his mechanics and the accuracy is undeniable. He seems like a kid who has a natural command of the game and plays within himself really well. I'd be very happy to land him, especially if DJ opts to go elsewhere.

We have 2 on scholarship and Rashada coming in. High probability we sign sign an experienced transfer. I am not sure I would want to start a true freshman QB like Merklinger. We play a true freshman QB at UF in 2024 we can guarantee a 7-4/6-6 year. See Clemson.

Have you even been following college football the last couple years.

5 STAR 6-4 240 Physical specimen with a Giant arm DJ Uiagalelei started as TRUE Freshman QB for the last 2 years until last game he was replaced by Cade Klubnik a more accurate passer.

5 Star Lagway == 5 Star DJ Uiagalelei
4 Star Merklinger == 4 Star Cade Klubnik

Give me 4 Star Merklinger a more accurate passer instead of 5 Star Lagway Running QB with giant arm. If you watch Lagway's film from Junior season to Senior season, he has improved passing a little bit but has gained weight and is visibly a little slower.

 

Just a few things wrong with your post.
1, DJ U did not start as a true freshman. Clemson still had Lawrence that year. DJ only started 2 games his freshman year because of COVID.

2, Klubnik was not a 4 star, he was the number 1 QB and number 6 player overall.

3, you literally just compared Merklinger to Klubnik after previously saying you would NOT want to start a freshman like Merklinger.

4, you said you wouldn't want to start a true freshman QB like Merklinger (who you just compared to Klubnik) and to "see Clemson" for proof of why that's bad at almost the exact moment that Clemson replaced DJ U with Klubnik (a true freshman) who went on to play significantly better.

Have you even followed college football the last couple of years?

Not only that, his example he attempted to use in his last post didn't even make sense in trying to compare it with UF with Lagway and Merk. DJ had 2 years to solidify himself as s great QB and didn't so they went in a diff direction.

With Merk and Lagway, they're in the SAME QB CLASS and we're only going to land one of them. He's acting like DJ U HS film didn't warrant him being a highly regarded recruit lol. Like he didn't throw for 127 td's to 11 int's at 67% as a 3 year starter in HS. Come on now, dude is wild for that post lol
