It's completely up to @RealtyGator . . . but your point assumes they skip Week 1 when they have 1,000 points. If they only have 500 that's a bigger percentage and if they have thousands, that's not nearly as bad . . . even at 200. Realty could consider a percentage of their total points deducted for not playing which accomplishes your objective and is fair to those of us who spend some time dwelling near the bottom of the list. However, sometimes things come up and they forget or don't have time (like me).
My point was grounded in the 900pts that non-participants have after week one, true, but I'm not maintaining an assumption. I'd be perfectly fine with a panelist with 200pts going bust if they did not make picks. True, but the person having thousands of points earned them by making good selections. No need to deduct a greater number of pts from them under my suggestion.
Pretty wild that OKst covered against Ark, which led 14-0 early and throughout the game. When they went to O/T and with the line at 7.5 I was all like . . .
I am inclined not to make any changes to this rule. If somebody wants to "stay put", there are plenty of ways to do that within the rules. After all, isn't the essence of gambling "you got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em" ?
I have only allowed this on one occasion, where a panelist copied and pasted a game and put a bet amount but did not mention who the bet was on. I would not allow it to be done intentionally...

This weekend I did my “George Costanza” picks: I wrote down who I would pick and amount to bet….then, I changed them all Went 2 for 3 this week I now have my system: however I think I should bet - I do the opposite. Things are looking bad/good.
How do you shake up the panel? By winning four 225 pt plays, which is what @novagator did. Nova (+810), @Gatorrick22 (+540), and @wrrgator (+360) were this week's big winners. Unofficial by the numbers: 65 picks on faves this week; 37 of them hit. Faves went 6-4 this week and are 13-7 on the year. Last week's big leader went from 1st to 22nd Nova went from 13th to 1st. There are 36 panelists and none went bust this week. 16 of 36 were in the + this week. 10 of the original 38 (26.3%) are + after two weeks.
