Anyone who knows anything about college ball and paid attention to our recruiting misses, lack of development and leadership issues over the last decade saw this coming. Total rebuilds and culture change can be brutal and not for the weak of heart.
If the recruits see that coach is willing to swallow his pride and bring in a good o coordinator and s t coordinator the recruiting should not drop off and the w/l should change also for the better. Next year will tell the tale if this coaching staff is going to develop along with the team.
good thing too is that, while it’s not resulting in the W’s you want, it’s not like we’re out here getting drubbed by two td’s in our losses. Just a few here and there’s and these close L’s are W’s which i think starts next season. maybe i got the O&B goggles on, but what we return next season is talent enough to win 7 games so if/when we bolster that with more SEC caliber talent and not just bodies to fill out a depth chart, we can push for 10+ edit: while we did get beaten by two or more td’s in 3 of our 4 losses this year, two of those we kept shooting ourselves in the foot
Total rebuilds, culture changes, and roster turnovers can happen without looking disorganized and lost. If we get beat by superior talent few people would complain. But other than Georgia our losses and narrow escapes are all due to self-inflicted wounds.
Of that list only 5 are still active HC's, 4 of them were fired, 1 retired, and one relocated to the NFL.
We are assuming we keep our recruiting class and we don't lose a lot of players to the portal. Some of our good players don't want to play for a 5-7 record. Wilson can go to Ga. or Bama and complete for a national championship.
Some people like to jump to the easiest path on a super team, instead of staying where they’re at building their own brand and winning it where they started. Two different types of people. I have a Lotta respect for the Greek freak.
Maybe if he had an ounce of respect from SOS. Give Napier 2 more years to recruit and we'll have Meyer's roster right where he wants it.
I’m no doubt sticking with Napier. Don’t like any of those guys but Dabo is just the most lesser of the evils and I like Mack Brown but he seems to be taking the easy road and kinda done.
