Behind the back step-back three over Evan Fournier (6'6") and Nic Batum (6'8"). Just insane. This really reminds me of the American legal system. There is something profoundly idiotic about screwing people over using technicalities. It is one of the things I hate the most about our legal system, and I am sad that this sort of shit has made its way into sports. Barbosu didn't earn that medal. Claiming it would be pathetic. And it is even more pathetic to take it away from Chiles, who did nothing wrong.
Romania and the U.S. are trying to resolve this the right way. Meanwhile, the IOC are being jackasses. If I'm Team USA, I tell Chiles to keep her bronze, and I send a letter to the IOC and FIG telling them to go have sexual relations with themselves.
I mean that Steph performance… WOW. Lebron also glued it all together, as always. US team played HARD. The usual issues with lack of cohesiveness and such, but France was game and Da Boyz just too much. Almost unbelievable home court advantage, France lights out, still ain’t enough.
I was just telling my wife, who gave absolutely zero shits, how cool it was that these millionaire NBA players join up with their rivals and play for the USA for essentially no money. 37k to these guys is nothing. They love doing it
While they're rivals, a lot of them are also friends. Hard to turn down an opportunity to represent your country, win a gold medal, and team up with the best players in the NBA (instead of having to play against them).
Agreed. But they all played balls out, including France. They had an advantage with “national team” and obviously the ultimate home court, but USA players didn’t dick around. They played legit D all day and LBJ and Steph. That show that Steph put on is Instant Legend.
KD not a great defender, but he TRIES, and that matters. USWNT and USMBB, bringing it home on the same day! USWBB will methodically destroy France in a similar mode tomorrow (today.) They are unbeatable.
Looks like we just won a gold in women's Omnium cycling. Some kind of multi event cycling. Looks like we're still one back of China 39-40
