Jordan never stepped out of bounds. I'm guessing she doesn't remember all of the elements of Jordan's routine which makes sense because it's an emotional moment
You're right. I was responding to the Sabrina Voinea comment about Jordan going out of bounds. What sucks is this has happened to Romania before. I remember there was an inquiry years back with Ally Raisman where the Romanians ended up losing a medal
In gymnastics, they are assigned a "starting score" based on how difficult the elements they attempt are. It's not an arbitrary number, they are told in advance what the elements are worth. So if they got that number wrong, they should review and fix it. It's got nothing to do with changing their minds as to the quality of the performance.
new wrinkle in the olympics paid off for him. coasted in the prelim but got a mulligan. now he has to race again on one day rest versus others with 3 but it gave him a chance to recover from the minor injury he was dealing with Freddie Crittenden’s repechage gamble pays off at the Olympics (msn.com)
And they didn't do it according to the broadcasters. A gymnast was penalized for stepping out of bounds when the tape showed she didn't. But the score didn't change.
I would have guessed women's. I don't follow soccer but it seems the women have fared better than the men. I could be wrong.
Well this was the first time the men have even made the Olympics in soccer in like 16 years or something. Women are regular medal contenders. But the men's teams are all Under 23 whereas the women have no age restrictions. There's some talk with the game load and increasing growth of club soccer, the women's event could go that way too eventually.
Yep, men looked good early but are long gone. Shutout by Morocco. Women won 1-0 in extra time. Had it on in the background, but 2 hours and 1 goal is a tough sell for Americans. I'm rooting for them tho and will probably watch most of the finals.
We beat them pretty good in the group phase, scored 4 goals. The knockouts are always going to be tighter affairs. Playing that many games in a short period is a grind.
My new favorite Olympic moment was Dwayne Wade just saying on the basketball broadcast "if you get a chance to play basketball in the Olympics, it's special. Make sure you soak it all in." You guys all hear that? Make sure you soak it in when you get the chance to play Olympic basketball
It is very good advice. I will definitely take a moment to do that while I drain 3s at 45 years of age in the Staples Center (or whatever it is called now) in 2028.
