Couldn’t disagree more, but like you said, it’s moot. We have a chance to make it irrelevant

Your humility is refreshing, but the facts speak for themselves. Moose and that retired faculty guy have destroyed the psyche of the opposing team's free throw shooters, and they've even ramped up their game after getting all the egg nog out of their system over the holidays.

1st half FTs at home, opponents are shooting 55.9%
2nd half FTs at home, opponents are shooting 70.1%

Now, in SEC play, we have:

1st half FTs at home, opponents are shooting 50.0%
2nd half FTs at home, opponents are shooting 74.4% (seems like the east baseline could use some coaching up or maybe another pair of speedos)

And the last three games, the 1st half opposing FTs have been brutal: 12-28. It's easy to have good strategy when you have soul-stomping mojo in your favor.

    Go GATORS!

Maybe one thing that has to do with better 2nd-half free-throwing is a player finding the range a little bit more. Zyon, for example, has a tendency to shoot his first free throw of the game very flat, regardless of it being a home or away game. I dunno, but it would make a good research project for someone. Eric, you listening?

a lockdown defender would be good. But also a dead eye three ball shooter would be incredible for this team. Remember Teddy Dupay? If we had someone of that caliber, this team would be rolling.

We need to see what's going on behind the baskets on each end and replicate that first half background in the second half. Maybe rotate the end zone crowds at halftime!

Maybe the opposing FT shooters get distracted by the Dazzlers in the first half.

    We have shooters.

Clayton Jr is shooting 34.9% this year. Richard is shooting 35.1% Dupay was a career 37.9% shooter. That means if they take 100 x 3 pointers, Clayton Jr. and Richard would each make 35 and Teddy would make 38. Is that really a big difference?

Yeah... it happens. I remember one of my men's league games where this goofy dude on the other team shot a contested spinning fade away three pointer falling out of bounds in the corner. Nothing but net. Game over.

That's as good a theory as any. Maybe we can get the Dazzlers to dance behind the goal whenever an opponent is shooting freebies.

Parsons went 7-8 from 3 at Vandy in a year where he shot 30% from 3. I’m sure Vandy fans couldn’t believe that one happened to them too.

we need a Lee Hump type of guy, not the Gambler. Lee averaged 51% on 3s in league play his Sr year

Actually I think we would need a DFS kind of guy and I thought that Riley would be that guy. But that would be in a two guard offense with a slashing 3.

But we play a lot of three guard offense and start the game that way and that doesn't suit Kugel's game.

I really like Kugel's potential but with our current line-up he is kind of an odd man out. Next year might be completely different. Pullin will be gone.

Yeh, we should always have the NCAAT career leader in 3's on the team, every year. Problem solved...get on it, Golden!

Somebody should tell Lee not to wear flood pants. I think that he can afford pants that fit now.

I sit on the baseline and I can see his pants. And much of his socks.

What was it Frazier did that night against usce? Seems like he shot above 50% for a season also, but that one night he was scorching.

Erik Murphy had a crazy season also in there close to 50%. He didn't shoot more than about 5 a game, but a crazy high percentage for a season.

Both those guys were great from the 3. They didn't waste shots and only took them when they got good looks (or the shot clock was expiring), which is key. Unfortunately for Frazier, when he was a senior and the featured guy in the offense, his efficiency went way down. That happens when you put more on a guy's plate than he can handle.

Agree, think we're up in the top 40 of the NET now. We look every bit a tournament team, unlike some of our recent bubble teams. Would certainly be disappointing not to make it. Think as the SEC season continues to play out we will feel more comfortable about our position.

I also agree that we look like a tournament team but we still need to get the wins to get us in. We still get jammed up at times, particularly at closing time, and eyeball tests don't really count at this point. Good news is, I believe we can beat every team remaining on our schedule. Bad news is, we won't.
