I don't know how street sales work anymore with everything being digital.

 

I, for one, am just glad that we now have a vested interest in this event. Speaking for myself, there were days during this season when Omaha for our Boyz seemed a forlorn hope.

As always with baseball consistency helps tremendously but you’ve got to peak at the right time.

And we all need to remember Tug McGraw’s quote: “You gotta believe”!

 

The team records/winning percentages/number of games against the CWS field in the ACC/SEC Challenge:

It looks like the Gators are more battle tested having played 12 games against the field, 4 more than the next closest team.

Texas A&M, 1-3, really? I had to check that twice for accuracy. I like the Gators chances on Saturday night.

The two highest winning percentages, FSU and UTn, open against each other in game 2.

NC State not only has done well playing the second most games, 8, but they also beat 7 seed Georgia in Athens 2-1.

I like UF's chances to compete with any of these teams so long as they continue to perform well. The Gators have nothing to lose so hoping they play loose and just have fun.

 

Way to leave yourself an out, there, hombre. :-D I'd say it's always true that any Gator team will have success "so long as they continue to perform well" . I would also say that it's not accurate to equate prior success with future expectations. Our lineup has changed, their line up has changed, everyone is "away" and some fanbases (aTm, e.g) travel well, pitchers have gotten better/worse.

It's a whole new slate, as you rightly noted and I hope the guys enjoy being there...for as long as possible. Esp #14. He deserves this.

We generally consider reaching the Final 4 in Basketball as a successful season. I equate making the CWS as the same.

 

It's an all SEC/ACC affair this year.

 

Picky, picky, picky, I think the information is relevant. That you don't, hombre , is your issue.

 

The makeup of this series, and the brackets, is curious. There are only two conferences represented: four teams from the ACC and four from the SEC.

Of the two brackets, ours contains 3 SEC teams and one ACC team. The other bracket is 3 ACC and one SEC.

It would have been more interesting imo, to split the brackets with 2 teams from each conference in the bracket.

 

While I don’t exactly agree with the statement, I very much applaud anyone that understands that lose and loose are two different words, and knows how to use and spell each. Cudos!

 

They don’t change the matchups based on who won the games to get there. These matchups are all predetermined by the regional matchups two weeks ago. Changing the matchups now would be like rearranging the elite 8 field in the basketball tourney.

I think the Gators will play better without the pressure of high expectations so that is the reason for the statement. Most people don't give the Gators a chance to win the tournament so play loose and have fun. I felt the same way about the softball team which finished 3rd, including the final polls out today.

What "exactly" do you agree with? It's okay if you think the Gators will play better under pressure. I just don't agree with that assessment.

 

Even if they did reseed, you'd still end up with one ACC on ACC and one SEC on SEC matchups in the first 4 games.

There is also the cross over effect as you progress in the tournament. The teams are going to get jumbled up pretty good.

 

There is no cross over in the CWS Men's bracket.

 

I like our chances. Investing $10 was well worth it.
