It’s scheme because he isn’t a good OC. We’ve said it since season 1, if everything isn’t perfect, the play will not work. We don’t have an OL to rely on, a scheme to put pressure on the defense and dictate things, and worst of all we STILL don’t play with any pace/tempo. Just a lumbering offense that if you score first against us, more often than not you will win
The ones that harp on scheme the most know the least about it, and just assert that if we used their magical scheme (which they can't even define) there would be receivers running with nobody within 10 yards of them.
I guess at the end of the day, the record shows we’re not getting it done. Whether it be the scheme, the personnel, the coaching/development…I concede it really doesn’t matter as Napier is responsible for all of it.
I don't purport to be an expert in x's and o's but while I think there are limitations in his scheme, it's been successful in pockets with limited talent. The bigger issue in my opinion is his inability or unwillingness to work around whatever limitations he has at certain positions as well as his game management/play calling.
The shape and play of our O-Line, two coaches, more bodies to chose from and we still can’t trot out a decent line ????
I might dislike our defensive scheme even worse. Watching the first half of gnfp, I’m not sure we set the edge once.
