It hurts because we don't know his replacement yet. What if, for example, the Pitt DL coach comes here and brings one or more of his players with him and they turn out better? The portal isn't relevant at this point in terms of rating wins and losses and what hurts and what doesn't hurt because we could very easily upgrade with every loss that we have. I'm of the mindset not to fret over every one that announces their transfer but rather just kind of let it all flush out and see who we get to replace them and what the team looks like moving forward.
I agree, I am just worried about the DT position over all. I don’t think big dez is working out and that’s 2 DTs gone already. Our only DT this cycle is the three star, who I’m sure will be good but not asap like we need. Somehow landing Nolan solves this issue but even he’s only a one year rental lol. And that’s a long shot anyways
I see it a little different. As of this moment, we have room for 7 more players (HS or transfer). I'd MUCH rather lose a player that won't play next year and replace him with a star....than lose someone in the rotation and replace him with a star. Easy call. The formula here = lose players that haven't played and replace them with stars.
Assuming everyone that walked on Senior Day leaves (that's what is likely occurring, and trending), then we're at 78 as of this moment....so room for 7 more (transfer or HS) as of right now.
