normally…yes. However, I think I want Napier to have this extra time to completely overhaul and potentially get a leg up on grabbing coaches/players/recruits
With Napier suggesting he needed a lot of time for evaluating the portal players, maybe we should be glad they did not go to a bowl this year.
If he is being truthful about analyzing every year and adapting then he can’t have the same mentality he did last year. He has to get a few legit contributors from the portal, can’t wait and over analyze. We aren’t in the position to be extremely picky yet
It looks like half the players in college football are entering the portal. I think the end result is you have to recruit the players you have every year and recruit the new players you want too.
If a players is in his second or third year and he’s not coming into the next season on the two deep, they need to look elsewhere. Max is a great example. He may never play another down if he were to stay. The kid has the tools to possibly play on Sundays. He needs to start somewhere and at least try to develop.
I agree. And I don’t fault him for George since George is a guard that is forced out of his position to play tackle. Other than that I don’t see any huge misses on transfers. Maybe kimber but I’m not sure when he got here
Nothing new here but at least a head coach is willing to discuss the numbers with the press. Perhaps max brown is shopping around with these kind of numbers. He probably won't see 7 figures but he's got to be wondering how close he can get. Nebraska’s Matt Rhule reveals eye-popping cost for ‘good quarterback’ in transfer portal
UCF would seem like a good fit. Gus seemed to like Plumlee and Max is a similar player. Lean, fast, big arm. They’d probably let him play baseball too, and he might make both squads there. Plumlee did.
