Since he posted his picks before the deadline but did not designate points for each, my ruling is that each of these is a 34 point wager. He was obviously rushing to beat the deadline and got careless...
Last week folks took the pts and mostly lost, as the faves went 8-2. This week there are about 57 picks on faves and 9 on dogs. There are several panelists who did not get picks in.
Are you keeping those kinds of stats, gatordavisl? I know there are other stats that are kept on this game thread. I just forgot which ones they were. Percentage win rate?
I have sometimes posted win rate in the past, but my spreadsheet isn't set up to calculate it. So to do so I have to do it manually, which is extra work for me. It "takes a village" to run the Panel. My assistants: @GatorFanCF enters everybody's wagers into the spreadsheet @gator_n_sc creates the weekly standings after each week's games have been scored and my self-appointed assistant: @gatordavisl who makes sure that everything is done accurately I couldn't do it without y'all....
I keep tabs on the scores and then make casual observations. For example, the panel will often lean a certain way in games involving our rivals (big on LSU last week; big on A&M this week). I predict a healthy bounce back overall for the panel, unless Miami & Texas cover. If that happens, lotta folks gonna tank.
Yes it’s so strange how many bet big on those 2 games. I hope Miami gets beat bad but I don’t think it’s a sure thing.
Lol... I'm sure there's some "levity" in this post somewhere. Yes, the smart villagers, not the village...
Oh yes, sorry and thx. Remembered at the very last moment. Was only gonna do 50 each anyway so I accept your most benevolent judgement .
Leave it to Kentucky to stink it up when I pick them. Researching the game, every prediction I saw had them winning covering the spread. I hate Kentucky (particularly the basketball team). Every time I pick against them they win and cover.
Yep - that was a strange one. I didn't watch the game, but was score watching, since I picked UK. They should have boat raced Eastern, but I guess they turned it into a hillbilly fight.
Well, it happened and by and large, the panel took it on the chin. By the numbers: Faves went 2-7-1 this week (never a good sign for the panel) and are 10-9-1 on the season. Four out of 34 panelists had a plus week. Another four did not make picks. Another one bit the dust, so we are down to 33.
Next time you pick... change to the opposite picks. Lol. I shouldn't be laughing either. I messed up this week too. Bama and Texas A&M killed me. I totally forgot about the QB situations for both teams. Had I remembered that I would have changed my pick in the Texas-Bama game. But A&M had a good QB that just got the short end of the stick with Miami's QB making the more plays. A&M's team we out talented...
I thought Kentucky-31 was the lock of the week. Especially since the line moved all the way to 35 before game time. Oh well. I lost points but at least I got the auburn game right
Eastern gave up points by the boatload last year. 52 to Gardner Webb, 42 to Jax state. They scored a lot too. My thoughts were that uk could score 70 while the Stoops coached d shut down their offense. It obv didn’t happen but one thing that’s certain- they will play us like it’s their Super Bowl. Maybe this year we will take them more seriously.
