I just read the D1Baseball article on the Gators win and felt it was great analysis of both the game and the entire Gators season. It mentioned the early season bullpen chaos that has become a major strength for the team. It complimented the coaching for finding the relief pitching balance that held TCU to just two runs, low enough to let the bats pull out a ninth inning win. The booming bats got us to the postseason with sweeps and blowouts, but now that we're in the finals, winning two more games by just one run each makes us champions.

We've reached a point where there are three very strong teams left, the top teams in the country. Each is strong enough to win. I expect there will be some Gator flaws through the weekend series, base running blunders, poor bunts, hanging breaking balls and fastballs down the middle of the plate, hitters going 0 for the weekend, fielding errors. I hope we have fewer flaws than the opponent.

But what a great season! I'll always be happy for having been around for this team.

A superb post. Now is the time to start tempering our expectations, and our reactions, so that in our frustration (if things go badly for our team) or our exultation (if they do not), we do not behave irresponsibly. These youngsters, and the staff behind them, have given us a truly memorable season. So many great stories of perseverance, failure, triumph, love...there's no trophy that can change any of those things.

In tonights game look at the MPH gun to start the game and see where that goes through the course of this game. This game will be about good pitchers cancelling each other out. And if that does happen when getting into the 5-6-7 inning area which teams bullpen will be more ready to go so to speak. I say the answer is Wake. I would be highly surprise if the LSU big boy will be going into the 8th inning throwing 100 plus like he did Saturday night. If he is throwing 95-97 mph when getting into the 5-6 inning then things get interesting for LSU because how long do you really expect this guy to go tonight. If he gets through innings with low pitch counts then I see that happening but given how these umpires fluctuate the strike zone each inning I highly doubt he go through each inning with low pitch counts. He was heavy with his fast balls Saturday. Good gauge of where he is at is if he is throwing other stuff than the fast ball with more frequency to start the game. That should indirectly tell you where his arm strength is at.

Truthfully I wish both pitchers were fully rested so we could expect both of them to have their best stuff. With that said I think they will do just fine on 5 days rest.

6th inning pitch count in upper 80s. Less for wake pitcher at 53 pitches.

103 pitches into 7th for big boy. How far do you go if lsu does not score in this 7th inning.

Lowder still dealing with heavy slider use approaching 90 pitches.
