I think if we get any combination of 20 wins, assuming mid-major tourneys don’t steal a bunch of bids, we will get in. 19? Eh I don’t think so. 18 NIT. Looking at our sked so many missed opportunities. But hope springs eternal. Go Gators!

In our favor, the SEC won the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. The Big 12 gets promoted as the best or second-best conference every year. So the SEC needs to start getting loud about that win.

Sadly, this is a perfectly succinct description of the team and program...

Justin, where does this excerpt come from? I do agree with it, especially the part about the program being fundamentally formless. That’s why it’s so difficult to answer the questions about why is this or that guy playing or not playing, why is this or that guy playing that particular position, why are they shooting so many 3’s, etc. The answer seems to be, who the hell knows.

Ouch. That's not good and SS has to really look at the big picture. Arkansas, Auburn, Alabama, Tenn and probably LSU have all passed us. Still really hoping we get in the tournament, but this caption says a lot.

It was an excerpt from twitter. Someone had copied and pasted from one of their script sites

Thanks. It was an excerpt from an article in The Athletic written by Eamonn Brennan.

It’s so painfully obvious to anyone that’s paid attention. I really get tired of hicken and frangie tell me this is what we’re supposed to be. Can u think of a multiple time national champion over the last 20-30 years who would say that’s acceptable

How I feel after every game thinking we once won back-to-back Championships:
    I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
    The child is grown
    The dream is gone
    I have become comfortably numb

Sad but true. I can't remember a year since I started at UF in '83 that I've been less interested in watching Gator basketball games. When I started, we'd never made the tournament or won an SEC championship. Coach Sloan made us competitive and got us in the tournament! Later, Coach Kruger got us to the Final Four, then Coach Donovan got us to the promised land...twice! I can't complain as I was lucky enough to see UF basketball go from irrelevant to top tier over about 25 years. Even the last few years, while frustrating, I've looked forward to watching the games. Not sure why, but I don't really look forward to them this year. I guess I'm just spoiled. Still pulling for the guys to be successful though.

agreed, "aggressively average" is all that needs to be said about the current state of UF hoops.

there's no rational reason to believe our trajectory will change for the better moving forward, but hope springs eternal I suppose.
