Can someone make a list of teams to root for and teams to root against? In conference, there's no chance MSU or Usce jumps us unless they win it all right? We know at minimum we have to beat A&M.

Xavier was a big loss, may still not be enough for them to get booted. VT wining at the buzzer hurt, if they beat ND they are in I guess, so we need them to lose and stay on the bubble. Indiana losing to Michigan would be good, I think Michigan is in either way at this point. Who are the others we need to lose?

TX southern has the best odds to win their tournament, which can't hurt, not sure it helps either.

I wouldn't think a Loss to Bama on a neutral would move them down. Then again I wouldn't have expected a win against UGA to move them up, they did win by 35, so maybe that's why?

Of course none of this matters if Florida loses today, but best results would be.

Michigan beating Indiana who should be out anyway but you never know. A loss and they're done.

Boston College beats Miami. Probably a long shot, but a loss would hurt Miami. Not sure why they're considered in, but a loss could knock them out.

Marquette beats Creighton. Another team that may get in because of 5 Quad 1 wins, but they're just 4-4 vs Quad 2 and they have losses to 14-17 Arizona St. and 12-18 Butler. They're best non-conference win is vs BYU, but they're next best after that is 10-22 Nebraska. Currently, Creighton's Net is 66 and a loss could knock them out.

Nor sure about Notre Dame and Va Tech. Neither resume is particularly good imo. Va Tech has 1 Quad 1 win while Notre Dame has 2. Loser should be done but most brackets seems to have Notre Dame in, so I guess root for them.

Vandy over Bama. If this happens, Vandy will definitely still stay a Quad 1 win. The fact Vandy moved up so much in the Net for destroying Georgia, shows how flawed the Net rankings system is. At the very least Vandy needs to lose a very close game.

UNLV over Wyoming who has been struggling as of late. Committee may take them anyway, but have lost 4 of 7 including losses to 11-19 New Mexico and 17-13 UNLV who they play again today. Bracket Matrix currently has them as a 12 seed so a loss could knock them out.

Baylor beats Oklahoma. They're only 17-14, but they're still considered on the bubble. A loss and they're definitely out.

Guess I need to throw in UNC over Virginia. The fact that Lunardi has them over Florida is hilarious. His love affair with the ACC is astounding. Virginia has losses to Navy, James Madison and 11-21 NC St. I think UNC is now safely in with the win at Duke, so a Virginia loss and they're also done.

Looking at NET ratings, which I don't fully understand. Beating A&M would still only be a Quad 2 win since its a neutral court, is that right?

The selection committee should work via the same principles of the Collegiate (oh excuse me, I meant to say "Semi-Pro") "New-Rules".

Forget all the flaky math and scenarios - Simply - boosters -
make price proposal to the committee .......... highest / best bid WINS! Your team is IN!

Of course the next steps are the highest bids for each level of advancement, up to and including the final.

    Easy, peasy, japanesee...........

I will say this, with the losses by Xavier & Wake yesterday and Vandy now being a Quad 1 victory the door has definitely opened a little for Florida. I really think that 2 wins and Florida is definitely in. That would give Florida 4 Quad 1 wins by beating Auburn and a 9-11 record vs Quad 1 and 2 (would be 9-12 if lost in the semis), but that record would definitely surpass most of the other bubble teams imo.

I guess a win today vs A&M and technically Florida could still receive a gift and put the Gators in the First Four if they wanted to get a 7th SEC team in the dance. That's probably unlikely but have to win today to have any shot.

That's right. Top 50 on neutral court for a Quad 1 win. It would put Florida at 5-2 vs Quad 2 and 8-11 vs Quad 1 and 2 which isn't that bad.

This is what it must feel like to be a Mississippi State fan. We have a chance to be a play-in team. Sing hallelujah.

Indiana beat Michigan, locking up their bid. Not that it matters to us now anyway.

    I'm told we're still in the "Third 32 out" category....so there's that.

May be time to lock this thread since we are now definitely out of the tourney. Rarely get excited about March madness when we aren’t part of it.

Because I think MW is the basketball equivalent of Ron Zook (minus the elite recruiter part). The sooner he is shown the door the sooner we might bring in an elite BB coach.
