taking 20.00 per hour in context, this is over 2.00 an hour more than the striking auto workers say entry level employees make, doing alot more than asking " do you want fries with that ?"

Workers who don't make a living wage probably qualify for government assistance... I'm tired of subsidizing McDonald's and Walmarts business model.
Not in California but the Taco Bell a few blocks from my house has been advertising at $19 an hour for well over a year now. Their prices don’t look much different than others I’ve stopped at on road trips.
Lets see, the average rent in San Diego is ~$3200 (its lower and higher in other places), which would be out of reach for anyone working for $20/hr. at 40 hours a week. Its definitely not "afford your own place" or buy a house type money.
