We've got a patient bunch at the plate so far this season.

 

I am not sure who the radio play by play announcer is but I have been listening to him this season and I think he does a really good job.

 

3 up 3 down for Hightower. 8-0 UF going to the bottom of the 4th.

 

Wallace walks, Echols flies out, Wallace steals 2nd.

 

Walsh flied out, Roe grounded out. Going for the run rule in the top of the 5th. 8-0 Gators.

 

Error on Skylar Wallace allows the leadoff runner to get on.

 

Ground out to 3rd, runner advances to 2nd.

 

Strike out for EH, runner to 3rd.

 

2-out base hit drives in an unearned run, so Gators get to bat in the bottom of the 5th.

 

Another single puts runners on 1st and 2nd. Then a fly out to LF ends the inning. Gators need a run to end the game.

 

Goelz leads off with a single.

 

Olivia Gigante pinch hitting for Longley.

Kistler reaches on a fielder's choice. Bases loaded, no outs, Falby up.

 

Falby gets game-ending single. Gators win 9-1. I'm watching Gator baseball on SEC+ while listening to this game and trying to take Gator Growl's place in posting game progress. Hope it helped.

Nice strikeout. But Longley doesn't notice the runner headed for third and casually throws the ball back to Hightower. That runner eventually becomes the only run scored against UF in 2023 and the only time that UF has batted in the bottom of the 5th at home this year as we had the mercy rule going until that run scored (not that I'm bitter )

I've really never seen straight on Longley since watching her play SS, so I'm serious when I ask why is she behind the plate rather than Wilkie? Longley has by far the lowest batting average and OBS on the team; its not like she has a rifle to 2B either.

 

I thought someone said it was because of her arm, but I have no idea.
