White did have much better in-bounding plays but why even mention that? Is that what you are basing your judgement on? I truly feel Golden's offense personally looks more fluid with the ball movement than White. I also think to many times on offense White tried to take the air out of the ball when we got a 7 point cushion versus stretching the lead out. Golden on the other hand believes to keep attacking. The offense my stall no doubt but it wont be becsuse of ball movement it is because the shots aren't going down. At first I thought White's defensive philosophy was better but the more ai watch of Godlen's team the better they are getting on defense as well. Look, I didnt want White to go but I would be lying to you if I didnt recognize that Golden has this team improving every single game and for me that says a lot about his coaching ability
My guess is with the latest successful run of games.....in which you can't deny that Golden has brought the team together and has us playing very effective and fun ball, we won't even hear from CoachSayre2.....(until we lose two in row, then he'll be back)
Well he is 5-0 against first time coaches at their school. It is the veterans coaches he has trouble with.
That's a pointless exercise because no one knows what anyone else will accept. I could say that Mark Few might work here for free and it can't be disproved until it's offered and rejected.
You could say anything, that’s true. But, some of us would be able to determine if what you are saying has any basis in reality. Not many would actually believe that Mark Few would come here for free. Maybe you and a few others may think that but any reasonably intelligent person wouldn’t.
And after the next four games many here will go back to doubting him. It’s the long haul to be concerned about. I am still of the belief that he has a huge upside, and watching the team progress into a solid unit from where they were while others fall back reinforces that. But a long way to go on him before the jury returns a verdict. Just as an example, last night he went to the soft press to take time off the possessions for USC and mean less time defending where we could commit fouls with a short bench. When JJ was playing decent and Colin had 2 fouls at the under four, he played Jason the rest of the half, which gave JJ some confidence going forward and let Colin go 100 percent in half two. And the play before the half was beautifully designed executed. The question mark is gin gimlet to be whether he can bring in talent, if he can I still like the long term odds on him working out.
I will tell you right now what I think. I dont give a damn if we lose the next four game by doubt digits I like the flow of the offense better. I said that back when we were getting beat. For me, ever since the season started I wanted to see improvement on defense. I know we may or may not be in the tournament this year. Hell, we didnt make it in White's first year nor did we under Billy D either. Sorry brother but my mind wont change on any of my points regardless of the outcome of the next four games. I just want to see continued improvement along the way. Period.
Right now I'm much more optimistic about the future of the basketball program than that of the football program.
Three top five teams? How is that a fair assessment? I mean, sure, let's see how we do against the best of the best. But are you gonna shout "I told you so!" if they don't win one? We will be 'dogs in all four.
More of a Scotch man myself, but there are some talented gins out there. For the long haul, though, I'm going with the better-aged spirit.
Well, Kansas State just lost this week to Iowa State so they won’t be in top 5 when updated rankings are announced.
To be fair, White had some of the best inbounds plays even when KJ wasn’t eligible. I hated White’s offense and his tendency to try to milk a lead with way too much time left, but the man had some really good plays to get easy baskets with his inbounds wizardry.
I think that I’ve been crystal clear that I think the Gators lose all four. If they win one, they exceed expectations. If they win two, hell freezes over.
You can pick nits if necessary. What I posted was accurate. How many of the four games do the Gators need to win for you to be satisfied? Edit: I see that winning one would exceed your expectations. That would be satisfactory then, yes?
K state beat Kansas and has what would have been our best player on their roster but for an incredibly unfortunate set of circumstances. So they may not be top 5. It's as nasty a stretch of games as any team will ever see including Kentucky who is finally playing better. Anything to satisfy your narrative I guess. But but but....inbound plays....
