First and foremost, a huge congrats to @StrangeGator for almost nailing the exact yardage and to Douglas. Missed the exact prediction by 4 yards. He predicted 15-yard pass to Douglas from Mertz and it was 19. Well done!!! @StrangeGator was the only one to predict the 1st Gators TD correctly. On to week 2 where we could have used week 2 as week 1. Needed a tune-up game (or 2) before playing a well coached, well disciplined ranked team on the road. I'm looking forward to seeing this team get back to work against the McNeese State Cowboys, cutting out the self-inflicted mistakes and get back on track before the big showdown next weekend with Toothless TN. I think Napes wants to get 2 & 7 involved quickly this week and we do our best to establish a run game against a stacked box. With that said, the stacked box dictates Mertz will lead the way with the 1st Gators TD pass to Pearsall. Go Gators!!!
I think we will try, but the numbers in the box will dictate throwing the ball. We shall see. Would hate to go 3 and out on the 1st drive to force the running game.
