After a weather postponement on Thursday, the Florida Relays got started early Friday. The highlight was Anna Hall’s 55.35 in the 400 meter hurdles, it was not only a school record, and currently 2nd in the NCAA… it was also the first time she had run the event in competition.
I don’t think it’s hyperbolic to say she is one of the greatest athletes to set foot on the UF campus.
Jasmine Moore and Claire Bryant went 1st and 2nd in the LJ, Yanis David was 3rd competing unattached ( former Gator track athlete, but always a Gator).
There were personal best across the board (21). Four Gator men were under 21 seconds in the 200 meters. Joe Fahnbulleh came back strong with a 20.22, an outstanding early time, however Jacory Patterson one upped him with a PB of 20.20 which is currently 2nd in the world. Ryan Willie and Kemuel Samuel also had personal bests under 21 seconds.
Talitha Diggs ran a 22.78 just off her PB of 22.75, and transfer Mark Porter open the outdoor season with a very good 225+ in the Javelin.
Clemons went over 25 feet for a PB in the long jump and our 1500 meter runners (both men and women) had several PB’s, lead by Vasileia Spyrou and Nick Deal.
