That is such an emphatically stupid rule. If the QB wants to put his hands up and declare himself out of the play thats one thing. Or run out of bounds. But nobody should be exempt from getting blocked.

 

That call is garbage. The ball was in play going the other way and he pushed him on the front side shoulder pad.....I forgot they aren't allowed to actually play football anymore

 

If the SC let the QB go and he made a TD saving tackle the SC guy would have gotten ridiculed. A no-win situation. I’m old enough to remember when QBs were football players.

 

If you're the first guy there you hold the guy up, then let the second guy go for the strip. LSU just got a free first down there because SC defender tried hero ball.
