12 Games... Golden brilliant on this one Micah Handlogten can medical redshirt if he plays 30% or less of the total number of games the Gators play this season. How does Golden play out Handlogten's medical redshirt possibility?
The games played had to have been played in the first half of the season. So he would not be able to medical redshirt. 14.2.4. NCAA Bylaw
He’s misinterpreting the rule. You only qualify for a medical if the injury ends the season. You can’t come back after injury. If Micah were injured again and doesn’t come back, it would possibly come into play again if he was still under the threshold.
Well, that's not exactly what he said. He said he might be ready for the NBA after next season. But, yeah, I expect he'll at least test the draft waters at that point, and I'd be surprised if someone doesn't take him. Even with all the rust and lack of game day conditioning, I think he's already looking improved from last year. Glad to have him back.
Good chance he’ll get a 5th year of eligibility anyway by the time it becomes relevant. They’re currently considering a 5th year for everyone.
I'd like to see a return to the mandatory sit-out-a-year-after-transferring. At least for a second transfer by a player. The current state of free-agency is killing the game.
