I noticed Mertz ignores Zanders, except where he is the primary option. Odom gets all the catches and the complicated assignments. Odom may be the most consistent in knowing his role. Unfortunately that put him in multiple plays that stopped our momentum because he couldn't block the edge nor in space and he doesn't have speed or agility. We are really hamstringing ourselves being so reliant on TE sets with players that can't perform the role against top defenses.

The system has to adapt to the players you have and not the players to the system. Shula is a great example. Tan with Czonks, Kiick and Morris and passed with Marino, Duper and Clayton

For Livingston and Arlis to emerge and step up they will need a chance.

The smart coaches send out 13 for the penalty when backed up to the goal line on 4th down and only pull one out for the next play. Refs usually don't recount.

Yeah, GNFP was facetiously referring to Odom as our Travis Kelce. He doesn't look like he is 100% yet.

He has had an amazing recovery, but truth be told, I would rather his reps (at least in practice) had gone to Livingston and Boardingham.

I would agree TE is the problem on offense. I think our biggest problem is who is coaching ST. Going on his second year they are costing us. We are improving on defense and I think we will get better on offense as we go, but ST have been special for the wrong reasons. I think CBN will get things turned around. That game showed me if we don't have the mental breakdowns (mostly 1st year guys) we probably win that game. Stay positive GATORS!

Our back and receivers are our strong points, so how about 20 personnel? The QB is going to have to make quick reads.

I'm a UNC alum so I follow the Heels just as much as the Gators. The 12 and 13 personnel UNC used against little Carolina was a thing of beauty! But there is a disconnect between what Billy wants his TEs to be able to do and what they actually can do—whether it's due to a lack of talent or fit in the offense. Just feels like we're trying to fit a square peg in a round hole at the moment, and we need to use the talent we have at WR until Billy can get his horses

You’re the most reasonable Gator fan on here. I agree with you that Billy thought TE blocking was further along based on practices and the Utah game was a learning lesson. How long before we play our two most athletic TEs in Livingston and Boardingham together? I think that combo would really open up the offense.

Would love to see them line up in the wishbone just once and see how the D reacts.
