That wasn't what he said. The question was how do you preach patience to the fan base? Coach said that wasn't his job. His job was to lead the young men in the locker room. He also said he understand there is always criticism when you lose. There's enough to post about without mischaracterizing what Coach actually said.
Tell me the difference there. Semantics. So it's not his job to teach patience? I will remember that when I go to next club meeting. Fans pay. Donate. Spend and spend big. But hey, just search BN on twitter. Now the Napier Hive are coming out. We must be back in the catacombs again.
In 2025 we are in the playoff with DJ leading the way and the people in this thread will be saying I knew it all along. Dumb loud fans who think they speak for the entire fanbase.
They all get "lengthy" contracts. I don't agree with it, or understand how coaches got such leverage, but they did. You can't hire a decent coaching candidate without offering them a crazy contract. It just is what it is. Stricklin isn't the problem.
true. But the average fan has zero leverage or impact on NIL. It is major boosters - and I mean major- who hold alot of the cards. for example, if Billy gets canned - it is boosters who pick up most of that tab, not the school. That is typically of how it works. If Billy, or any coach, knows he has the support of the “x” number of major $ folks, he speaks to them, not us. (Well, you guys. I’m a billionaire so in that major booster group).
Yea NIL is completely separate. I gave what I believe to be a decent amount this year- $75K. What I do know is they along with the UAA on school fundraising side constantly call, email, attempt for me to sit in on presentations in town.
Yes, let's fire our best recruiter since Meyer and let's continue this constant carousel of rebuilding we've created. I honestly don't think Billy is too stubborn to make the necessary coaching changes he needs to make this offseason.
I had to leave to go to work after halftime. Really thought you guys were going to win that game, man, that stinks.
Well aware, which is why it felt like he was hiding behind or deflecting criticism by referencing the good cause. No one is questioning the cause, just my opinion.
Next year's Gator schedule would make Georgia tremble... We'll be a better team. But we might also be playing 8-9 top 25 teams. Insane.
