And he gave Glen Frey his shot. So without him, maybe no Eagles.

I'm White, and I've never heard that at a party either! Perhaps though on a smoke-facilitated relaxing Sunday by the pool with our mayonnaise sandwiches. :)

I don’t know who started that rumor that black people don’t like mayonnaise, but now I have to look over my shoulder when I eat it to make sure nobody sees me. Smh

You’re the one that believed 2000 Mules. You should probably sit this one out.

I was certainly open to the hypothesis, sure. But thsts nothing next to the fools who bought wholesale into the magic bat shitting on a wet market ( which just kind'r, oh idk, coinkyikly, happen to be situated in the same town as China's bio weapons viro lab...of course no connection...).

Either we're both in a cult (which renders the concept meaningless), or neither of us is.

I propose we relegate the term 'cult' to sit this one out, along with all the rest, until the next time we're confronted with an actual, honest to goodness, cult.

One of my fave Seger songs is also his most unusual: Fire Lake. Interestingly, three of the Eagles provided the backing vocals for this track: Glenn Frey, Don Henley and Timothy B. Schmit, according to wikipedia.

I assume by era you mean the 70s. That's not even close to being true. At his best, Seger flat-out rocked. He did have plenty of lame songs though. Old Time Rock & Roll sucks and most of his ballads are meh, but he more than makes up for it with songs like Ramblin' Gamblin' Man, Get Out of Denver, Nine Tonight, and the big hits like Hollywood Nights and Night Moves.

I think it’s hilarious that the OP title had to be edited to add “Bob Seger Debate.”

Not a Bob Seger-penned song, but he had the good sense to cover it. I saw the guy who did write it, Rodney Crowell, play it at the Orange and Brew in the mid 80s.

Many Christians are anti-Trump. I’m one of them. I’ve never voted for him and won’t. But I would be very surprised if anti-Trump Christians would nevertheless make such a blasphemous depiction.

Did you notice in that picture that Tom Petty is wearing a Florida Gators T-shirt? :ninja3:

Not sure your opinion is a metric of anything either. But in addition to the Rock and Roll HOF, Seger is also in the American Songwriters HOF, sold 75 million records and was on the Billboard album charts for a continuous 17 year run. No, his career sure didn’t suck and like they say in sports, just check out Seeger’s trophy case to find out why.

    Can see it clearer here:

Bob Seger and Tom Petty 1979 – Paul King Artwerks

...and for kicks--a couple of more natural pairings of the 2:

I would like to believe that YOU are smarter than this. You're the one who's dismissing essentially the entirety of all the voters and affiliates of one of exactly 2 major political parties, as a !@#$!#@$ cult.

You must be better than that. Seriously.

There are easily 10,000 reasons to vote for Trump that do not include worshipping him, or viewing him as anything more than the better of a multiple choice question of 2 choices.

I mean, Doh! Biden just about sucks out loud; as did the Shill.

The fact that some ppl, may be a tad over the top about supporting him, does not mean everyone who supports Trump and his policies over the abject pile of shit that Doh!'s presidency has devolved to, also inordinately supports Trump.

2 choices. A thousand reasons for one vs the other.

Seems to me you're the one who's being inordinately presumptive here.

Every time you insinuate MAGA is a cult, your IQ drops a bit. You can't afford too many more of these accusations.

I hated that one. We had a cat named Midnight and I always thought it was rude of Bob to blame my cat for so much.
