The Indian Olympic Association confirmed her disqualification at around 8.30am Paris time. “It is with regret that the Indian contingent shares news of the disqualification of Vinesh Phogat from the Women’s Wrestling 50kg class. Despite the best efforts by the team through the night, she weighed in a few grams over 50kg this morning,” it said in a statement.

This means Phogat, who was assured a silver medal at least, will not be eligible for a medal. She will also be ranked last under the rules, missing the chance to become the first Indian wrestler to win an Olympics gold.

This person born and living as a woman may have an advantage in sports due to some partly male genetics. Ok? So… what is the fix? Force this woman to compete as man? Maybe force her to receive the “gender affirming care” that they want to ban? Makes no sense.

It’s possible she’s juicing, you can never discount doping when you look at the crazy shit Lance Armstrong did or the systemic doping in MLB or the state sponsored cheating we assume from the former Soviet block countries. But *if* it’s a natural phenomenon as described and she’s not taking steroids or testosterone then it is what it is imo. This is totally different from trans athletes, but as typical MAGA brain can’t compute nuance.
