Trump's Appointee has, and lied about, extensive ties to people from the past who shall not be mentioned. What a surprise. I wonder how this will reconcile with Trump's fake support of antisemitism that he's using to stifle free speech in universities. ‘A great friend’: Audio undercuts Trump US attorney nominee’s disavowal of alleged Nazi sympathizer Ed Martin, the Trump-appointed interim US Attorney for the District of Columbia and nominee to serve in the role permanently, says he now regrets praising a Capitol rioter who is an alleged Nazi sympathizer — claiming he was unaware of the man’s extremist views at the time. “At the time, I didn’t know it,” Martin said. But a CNN KFile review of Martin’s podcast shows he repeatedly praised Hale-Cusanelli in interviews with him, including two where they openly discussed — and dismissed — allegations that Hale held pro-Nazi views, including an infamous photo of Hale posing with a Hitler-style mustache. Martin hosted Hale-Cusanelli at least five times on podcasts in 2024, including his show “The Pro-America Report with Ed Martin.” The interviews were conducted well after Hale’s Nazi sympathies had been widely reported in media coverage and documented in court records. https://www.cnn.com/2025/04/28/poli...-sympathizer-he-previously-praised/index.html
My great Grandmother was a German Jew who escaped Germany before the Nazi's started rounding up the Jews, so I can assure you I am not a fan of the Nazi's. I just find it interesting that you libs think people who are not democrats can't change or disavow bad people. There was a dem in Congress that was a leader of the KKK in his youth. He said he saw the light and the dem party re-elected him every 2 years for for over 50 years. So except for the fact that all of you hate Trump why is this guy bad and Byrd was not?
So what you're saying is that Byrd was a racist and/or white supremacist sympathizer just like Trump clearly is, based upon the people he appoints? Could be. To be honest, I don't know Byrd's past as well as I know Trumps past (and present). But, like probably everyone on this board, I never cast a vote for Byrd, particularly knowing these obvious truths. Your turn!
Martin was required to list his media appearances. He apparently forgot about the 150 times he appeared on Russian state TV. Trump’s D.C. U.S. attorney pick appeared on Russian state media over 150 times Nominee Ed Martin did not initially disclose his RT and Sputnik appearances from 2016 to 2024 to the Senate. The State Department has said the networks act like arms of Russian intelligence. https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2025/04/16/ed-martin-rt-sputnik-usattorney/
Weird how lying like this is OK now. I guess Trumppublicans just don't care about Trump appointees following the rules ....... and disclosing their sympathies for Russia. It's probably because, like Trump, they really love America.
Anyone really surprised that Trump would nominate a supporter of a neo-Nazi for a US Attorney position? Remember who Trump invited for dinner at Mar-a-Lago back in 2022. Donald Trump dined with white nationalist, Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes By the way the Trump Administration's campaign against anti-Semitism is nothing more than a political stunt considering the same dinner. Trump dinner with antisemites was ‘breaking point,’ Jewish former allies say
Sen. Robert Byrd was a despicable liar, bigot, racist and despite his alleged public "enlightenment", it is unlikely he ever changed. However, he was beloved by West Virginians because a) most agreed with his social views and b) as ranking member of the Appropriations Committee steered an awful lot of federal "pork" towards good ole West Virginia. That said, the nation had little sway over which racist the "enlightened" people of West Virginia elected and continue to elect. That does not mean we need to watch the president appoint a Nazi sympathizer to the position of federal prosecutor for the District of Columbus.
The Party of the KKK (The Democrats) do not really care about our Jewish friends... especially the ones on college campuses nationwide. And anyone that does not believe in their trope are Nazis.
Byrd was a social conservative who voted against Civil Rights. He was probably one of the few anti-civil rights democrats who didn’t switch parties to the Republicans after 1964. Hell by the time he died he was probably THE only one standing. Whether he remained a closeted racist or his change of policy was genuine (disavowing segregation, embracing civil rights, voting 100% per the NAACP) could only be known to him.
