Hello Gator from another country! What country? Welcome to the board!

It's not only the leaving part but then choosing to go to a rival is always so much worse in my opinion. Kentucky is easily our biggest rival in BBall; so many other possibilities but Zel went to UK, then Dad opens his mouth - double Uggh! Like you, I support Golden's decision to not try and outbid for him. I think we really learned our lesson after the Rashada fiasco! Really even before and after that our portal decisions have been sound and the players in all sports have been very productive.

I know, it just doesn't unless he totally balls out, but it's hard to imagine Zel being more than a role player with UK. They almost always have way more star power than the Gators, next year should be no different. This has to be about money and not proving himself like Dad claims. He could have proven his worth way easier by staying with the National Champs!

My question is how does Pope manage a roster with now 13 or 14 scholarship players, in as far as dollars spent (probably 1st or 2nd nationally) versus playing time with the kind of star power now on that Kentucky roster next season? Having Zel at Kentucky in my mind does more to negatively impact the Florida roster than it positively impacts the Kentucky roster next season.....with the kind of money Kentucky has to throw around, I just cant help but think that was key in the grand view of things at Kentucky.........just saying

You can't coddle the youngsters. Throw them into the deep end of the pool and let them learn how to swim. Isn't that how we got into this emotional mess to begin with?

I dunno, but I think Henshall needs to make a decision quickly. The opening will be gone if he waits.

Hello, I'm from China. I was at UF from 2010 to 14 and got my PHD degree. I still follow the sports teams after returning to my home county with some difficulty watching the Gators live games. Yes, I think Coach Golden is a smart and passionate coach. I feared that he was not going to make it when the news break out earlier this season. Still not sure what happened there but hopefully he's not the bad guy the news said he is. But as a coach he has a great future and hopefully we can keep him for the long run.

Like the CEO of a company I believe our natty is 70% because of him. I think he has the analytics and the basketball instinct to make the right decision on our roster. And some times money and resource is not the main reason for the team success. Billy D and Golden both show that. It's still the CEO.

I had a feeling that UK will have some team chemistry issue with so many players getting paid a lot with not many playing time. Gators will beat his Kentucky team next year and make him regret the decision.

We will save a spot, IMO. We didn’t add Pullin until June and Klavzar until July. Very similar situations.

I am also from another country, actually 2 countries. I was born in Austria and lived in Canada for most of my youth. The first time I heard of UF I was probably 17 or 18. My friend's sister was talking about becoming a vet and studying in Gainesville. I thought, I have never heard of this place. About 5 years later I was vacationing in Florida where I met my wife, we married in Feb 1988. One night, before we got married, it was still late 1987 we were out at sports bar in Jacksonville, FL. There was game on TV and I kept seeing this #22 run with the ball, he was unstoppable! You may have heard of him, his name is Emmitt Smith. I was hooked and became a Gator. I haven't missed very many games since then, either live or on replay. I never attended UF but I bleed orange and blue, I follow all sports but Football, Basketball, Softball and Baseball are my favorites in that order.

    Grüß Gott!
I was stationed in Schweinfurt BRD for 4 years starting in 1983. I ‘discovered’ classical music, ergo Mozart which led me to Salzburg. I fell in love with that town and would travel there anytime I had the opportunity. I found the people of western Austria to be among my favorites in the world.

sounds like DA wants the trust/freedom that Clayton had; ain’t happening.

I’d like to see Boogie Fland added

Arky is flush with Big Chicken and Big Walmart money, and a fanbase desperate for a return to relevance. Why do you think Fland would take a massive loss of $$$ to come to Gainesville?

I found a gasthof about 20K east of town that was simply amazing, a venerable old hunting lodge upgraded to an inn. It was a hassle 'commuting' when roads were snowy but it became "my place", the family knew me and always gave me the same room, etc. Few Americans ever stayed there and they took a cotton to the grenzaufklärung offizier who tried so hard to speak Bavarian with the staff and guests.

A girl I had started dating wanted a reco to stay with a few of her girlfriends for a weekend getaway to Salzburg. She and her friends were teachers just arrived to fill spots in the on-base US schools in Germany. I sent them to my gasthof and called and made the arrangements for them there and a few places I knew, and was known, in town. Everyone gave her and her friends the "the Gemütlichkeit experience" only found in that part of the world, which made quite the impression on her group. The girl I was dating? She wasn't so sure about me after a few dates...I can be a bitter pill to swallow, I admit. But her friends were so impressed with the treatment they got at the gasthof, the things I had arranged for them in town, etc that they convinced her to give me more of a chance.

I've awakened next to that girl for over 39 years and counting.

We're a fun-loving bunch, for sure! I learned to party at the age of 12! Got drunk out of mind in a Bierzelt (beer tent) back in 1971. Servus Freund!
