No. This is my college at UF. I don’t recall seeing anything “woke” in any form more than usual or I would refuse to support. In fact I was impressed by the outreach I have received in the last two years, which was more than in the last several years put together.

 

All doors swing both ways, so endorsing this action also endorses the next governor halting all searches without “radical DEI progressives.” Would you be ok with that too?

 

I say that all the time on here. My time at UF in the Econ department was being inundated with free market right wing capitalism. MAGA is just soft when it comes to exposure to outside their little bubble

Such a weak pivot. If Fuchs is gonna claim that the next prez should be involved (BS), they should have halted the search before preliminary interviews. Given that this was down to four candidates, I'm pretty sure they conducted on campus interviews. Not only is it a weak play, the university wasted thousands of dollars flying candidates in, providing lodging, wining and dining them, etc. NTM the time expended by the members of the search committee. I'd be PISSED if I had served on that committee.

 

I feel like a Liberal Arts Dean should be left-leaning but not dug in on DEI or other politically charged issues. We need an advocate for our programs who can appeal to the experts and not enflame the partisans.

We The People will NOT be held hostage by radical leftists infesting our universities in the name of racism... err... DEI. They are not above reproach nor are they above REGULATIONS as institutions of higher learning.

These schools DO NOT MAKE THEIR OWN RULES. They have obligations of legal oversight... and they cannot act like a country unto themselves autonomously with their own immigration rules that are or act separately from our nation's legal laws on immigration.

The state should have all oversight on its universities.

I want people to learn STEM course and other liberal arts courses... educational courses that are taught without forcing political sides one way or another. Learning absent of forced politics.

Forcing to take classes geared solely on alternative lifestyles just to get a college degree is not curriculum, that is political. No one in any school should be forced to learn sexual lifestyles...
