Got a new liver 6/24. Cancer returned 12/24. Docs don’t know how - wasn’t seen outside old liver, no vein involved, even took nearest lymph node (which was negative). Scans this year show spread to both lungs (small tumor in each). Liver tumor radiated using SBRT early April. Lungs getting same treatment starting next Monday 4/28, once a week for 5 weeks. Docs will watch tumor marker in bloodwork and if it returns I’ll go on 2 meds that are showing great results. Oncologist in Houston told me he’s had patients in the same boat as me doing well 5-6 years later on these meds, and there’s a clinical trial that genome testing indicated could be very helpful to me. More radiation still an option down the road too. So…I try to stay positive and thankful for each day. Wish I felt better some days but maybe that’s coming. Kids check on me every day and my dear wife caters to me. Radiation makes me really tired and nauseated. I’ll sure appreciate any prayers you can muster.
Man dude, you are tougher than me, that would all break me. Thoughts are with you, let this be the last round of this.
Hang in there! Cancer sucks but the research and break thru drugs are amazing. Really shows the importance of funding research. I’m currently on a med that has kept my cancer at bay for 3.5 years now even though my tumors are still there. There’s always hope! stay strong. FU, cancer!
