I'm hoping for a year and a half, with an impeachment from a democrat-led Congress. Maybe that kind of spanking would help wake up the less-competent members of the republican party and help them reject nationalistic, xenophobic and economically ignorant candidates in the future.

...and yet, measured against the anti-American chicom puppet party that didn't just facilitate but actively encouraged our invasion by 20+ million undocked gang bangers, thugs, terrorists, fenty mules, sex traffickers (and the children they trade in), rapists, robbers and murderers, and which champions trannys rights to use girls bathrooms and compete against women...

They remain a breath of fresh air...a return of common sense, after a tsunami of idiocy compliments of Doh! Biden, sKamala, Barry, scmancy Nancy, and the rest of the clown show.

Pathetic. All that needs to be said is that Mexicans (and others) who immigrate (legally or illegally) to the United States behave on average better than native-born American citizens. Fewer crimes, more likely to pay their taxes, etc. The statistics are clear on that. AND they do jobs that Americans are unwilling to do: agriculture, roofing, dirty factory work, janitorial, and more. Any kind of crime that you claim an immigrant commits, there is likely a higher percentage of U.S. citizens involved in committing the same crime.

You may hope that Trump gets rid of all of the immigrants and stops all trade with China, but if that actually happens, you will change your tune within months, if not weeks. Prices will go up, and services (and quality of those services) will go down.

You do realize that a good part of the disapproval of the Democratic Party is from lefties who feel that the leadership of the party has been in aggressive enough in its opposition to Trump/ Those people are not going to be voting for MAGA Republicans come November 2026. Keep in mind that the term "high crimes and misdemeanors" means whatever Congress believes that it means. Trump's corruption and self-dealing could easily cross that line. Although the state of the economy and that allegations against a president are apparently unrelated in reality they do make a difference when a president is impeached or in the case of Nixon facing impeachment. When Clinton was impeached in 1998 and when Trump was impeached in 2019 the economy was excellent shape. When Nixon resigned under the threat of impeachment and likely removal from office, the the US economy was experiencing a second year of double-digit inflation and entering the most severe recession since the Great Depression. As far the second impeachment of Trump was concerned, it was largely symbolic at the time since he would be leaving office within a matter of days. Mitch McConnell in refusing to vote for the conviction of Trump really got in wrong when he said Trump would be subject to the normal criminal justice system given that a couple of years later Trump's personal SCOTUS cloaked him with near absolute immunity for criminal acts committed while in office.

A 1.6% margin of victory with the less than majority is wiping the floor? Who knew? By the way Nixon's victory in 1972 which was a true blowout in every sense of the term (a margin of over 20% in the popular vote and over 500 votes in the EC) didn't save him less than two years later and despite his moral failings and willingness to pay fast and loose with the law Nixon was a far more effective president than the former reality television star.

It did? Is there a poll that has shown Donald Trump gaining support on his handling of the economy? Because the last two that I could find were Fox News and NYT/Siena, neither of which stated that.
